Enjoy the weekend's action then? Me too, not bad for a starter, and still four more weekends to come.

A word of warning though - last year's Six Nations began in spectacular fashion before virtually grinding to a halt in the middle before Wales, at least, came to life again at the end.

We've another rugby smorgasbord for you next week with Ireland getting us under way at home to Wales in the early match on Saturday, before Scotland host England in the always intense Calcutta Cup clash later on.

And on Sunday there's a full serving of continental rugby cuisine as France host Italy - and after the last few results between the two that's far from a foregone conclusion.

You can watch/listen/read about it all here, look forward to seeing you all next week.

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland scrum-half on Six Nations Forum

On what Scotland should do when they host England next weekend:

"A passionate home crowd can inspire that five or 10% extra. There will not be many changes for Scotland.

"They need to cut out the mistakes they made against Ireland. There is a lot to fix in only six days.

"On Saturday, England were very impressive against France. They will see the trip to Murrayfield as another step in their progress."

Former Ireland hooker on Six Nations Forum

On introducing promotion and relegation to the Six Nations:

"I am not a fan of introducing a relegation element. But I would like see Georgia tested against these teams more, as they do so well at the World Cup.

"The sustainability of this tournament is built around the teams we know. France were bottom last year - how would the tournament function without them?"

We all love a good stat, don't we? Here's a few courtesy of our chums at Opta.

Ireland made 407 metres to only 267 metres for the Scots and the hosts edged the defenders beaten - 17 to 15 - and clean breaks - five to three - categories.

The hosts dominated both territory and possession, enjoying 59% of the ball and 63% of the territory.

Perhaps the most revealing stat of all? Scotland had to make 170 tackles to Ireland's 116.

Scotland coach Scott Johnson on Six Nations Forum

"We let ourselves down in certain areas of the game against Ireland. We could not convert when we got into their red zone.

"When they got their chances, they converted. We had more opportunities, but they converted theirs.

"We could not keep the pressure on. We show good patches of rugby, but we are not doing it often enough.

"It was disappointing. We had good intent, but we got caught playing when we should not have.

"I think there is a growth in this team that will come with a bit of maturity. We have to stick with the young group, and weather the storm - with more time in the saddle, they will get better.

"It does not look good for Sean Maitland [who injured his ankle], but we have confidence in some of the young ones.

"We go home against the enemy [when they play England] next weekend. Both sides will be edgy."

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales fly-half on Six Nations Forum

On who should play fly-half for Wales against Ireland:

"Fly-half Rhys Priestland's kicking was a bit loose at times against Italy. Next week against Ireland I would pick Dan Biggar as he has been successful for Ospreys when he has played the Irish teams."

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland scrum-half on Six Nations Forum

On where Stuart Hogg should play for Scotland against England next week:

"I would like to see Stuart Hogg at fly-half. Whether next week is the right time against England, I do not know.

"Hogg was outstanding at full-back in many ways against Ireland. What we need is to find the answer about how Scotland can get him into space more often."

Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt on Brian O'Driscoll's record appearance

"He did a great tackle towards end of the game. He's a great guy to have in this environment. He's a bit knocked around right now, but he will certainly be ready to go next week."

"We came out against Scotland to do the jersey proud. We can be proud of how we took our scores and our general shape.

"It is a massive challenge next week against defending champions Wales.

"Coach Joe Schmidt told me this morning captain Paul O'Connell was not fit to play. We were missing a great leader, but everyone stepped up.

"I am taking the try [hooker Rory Best also had a claim]. You train for hours on the field for a try like that.

"We can be more clinical and accurate, but I am very happy with the win."

On England's last-gasp defeat by France:

"A combination of a few little things prevented England beating France. Owen Farrell had cramp near the end leading to uncertainty and Alex Goode should have gone for the ball when Gael Fickou scored at the death."

Ireland try scorer Rob Kearney on BBC One

"At half-time we said we needed to go after them. We had to keep building phases.

"Chris Henry ran a good line and Scotland's defence was struggling a bit for my try. I saw a gap and went for it.
