Wales coach Warren Gatland speaking to BBC One: "I am often grumpy with these guys, but I am happy with that. They responded well, with a good performance and a fantastic result.

"We let ourselves down in Dublin and sometimes you need a watershed moment. We were smashed up front against Ireland, they took us apart and we had to have a good hard look at ourselves.

"I thought Sam Warburton was excellent on the ball, the midfield was good and Jake Ball did very well coming in for Alun Wyn Jones.

"We have got a big game at Twickenham in a couple of week, but hopefully today will be a platform for that."

Euan Phillips:, external A captain's performance from Sam Warburton, and solid front five as well. Lovely start to the weekend.

Peter Hardy:, external Wales improved. France got worse!

Simon Kinsey:, external All France want to do is drive the ball through Louis Picamoles. You can't beat Wales with one man rugby. Saint-Andre will or should go.

Wales centre Jamie Roberts speaking to BBC Sport: "It was a good performance, not one of the best because there were still a few errors. But we fronted up after what happened in Ireland and a few people looked themselves in the mirror.

"We put ourselves under a lot of pressure. The standards we have set ourselves, we expected more in Ireland. Tonight the boys played with a smile and the fans really got behind us. We knew if we turned up and played with the right style we could turn over France. You have to give the pack great credit after what happened in Dublin."

Wales prop Gethin Jenkins speaking to BBC One: "It has been a tough two weeks. Everyone has just been excited to get back on the field and show what we can do. There were a lot of harsh words and we had to deliver. I think that we did. We want to get four out of five wins and see how we look in the final table."

BBC Sport's Bruce Pope at the Millennium Stadium: "International days in Cardiff are always lively, but the Welsh capital promises a night of high - and possibly long - celebrations after Wales' performance against Les Bleus. If you imagine the Millennium Stadium is a bottle and the roof is the cork, then the fizz is about to break out. Lovely bubbly!

The clock is ticking and Wales are within touching distance of a second win of the Championship. This has not been a vintage display by Warren Gatland's side but they have brought France down to earth with a tremendous bump. Job done.

BBC Sport's Bruce Pope at the Millennium Stadium: "The Welsh crowd are visibly relaxing now and in full voice, sure that their side has done enough to ensure victory and equally sure of the words to 'Bread of Heaven'. The verses echo and rebound off the roof and the noise is deafening."

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales fly-half on BBC One

"Jamie Roberts has been running down that fly-half channel all game and he has been making yards most of the time. Jules Plisson misses the first tackle and then Sam Warburton picks and goes to exploit the gap that Louis Picamoles would have been guarding round the fringes."

  19. MISSED PENALTY (Halfpenny)published at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2014

A rare error by Leigh Halfpenny as he pushes his attempt wide after Sam Warburton wins a penalty at the breakdown. That would have knocked the stuffing out of France. As it is, still no points in this half.
