Harlequins have the ball in hand, perhaps knowing they need to make this numerical advantage count. First they work the ball left, but Ugo Monye's progress is halted. Now they switch the ball to the opposite side, but then it doesn't go wide when maybe it should. But here comes Monye through the middle, and there's no stopping him this time! Try! Quins have the breakthrough - and Nick Evans adds the extras.

    Ian Robertson
    BBC rugby union correspondent

"Stevens knew what he was doing. He wasn't trying to catch the ball. This is a bit worrying for Saracens, with just 13 men out there."

  3. SIN BIN - Stevenspublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

That's a bit daft from Saracens prop Matt Stevens. Deep inside the Harlequins half, he slaps Nick Evans' attempted pass away when he had no chance of gathering it properly. The home side are now down to 13 men, and this could be a crucial little period coming up.

  4. Postpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

Alex Goode and Mike Brown enjoy a brief kicking duel, before Neil de Kock launches the ball into the crowd. Here comes the Harlequins maul from the line-out, but they're not going anywhere fast.

  5. MISSED PENALTY - Evanspublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

But, surprisingly, Evans puts his chance wide. Quite a long way wide, in fact. So the hosts are down to 14 men, but they survive for now. Given last night's semi-final was decided by just one point, you feel the kickers can't afford to miss too many.

    Brian Moore
Former Harlequins and England hooker on BBC Radio 5 live

"Once your head goes below your hips you have no control over where you land. Even though Evans wasn't hurt there, it's the risk that counts rather than the outcome."

  7. SIN BIN - Boschpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

Here come Quins, enjoying some good possession inside the Saracens half. But Wayne Barnes has seen something he doesn't like. The away side have a penalty and Marcelo Bosch has been sent to the sin bin, for tipping fly-half Nick Evans above the horizontal. Evans dusts himself off and will kick for goal...

We pass the 20-minute mark and it's fair to say that, while it's been brutally physical, this one has been a slow-burner. Owen Farrell has the hosts ahead.

Alasdair Cresswell:, external Good to see sympathetic officiating in the Aviva Premiership once again. Shame about the previous 22 rounds.

Adam Harkin:, external Wayne Barnes, what a brilliant decision! Had the opportunity to ruin the game but technology allows him to make the right decision.

  10. PENALTY - Farrellpublished at 14:24 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

Harlequins infringe again and Owen Farrell has another opportunity to kick for goal. This time he makes no mistake and Saracens hit the front.

  11. MISSED PENALTY - Farrellpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

So after all of that, we go back for a Harlequins infringement and Saracens have a penalty. But it's a long, long way out and Owen Farrell's effort comes back off the post. Unlucky.

  12. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

It looks particularly ugly on the replay. Kyle Sinckler goes head over heels under the tackle from Shalk Brits, but he was already air-bound and the referee decides it looked worse than it was. To Sinckler's huge credit, he made nothing of it. Play on.

Saracens on the attack. Owen Farrell makes the break out wide but his pass is wayward. The visitors do really well to get back though, Kyle Sinckler making up the best part of 80 metres to provide cover. Now, we're heading for the television match official for the first time. This is to look at an earlier heavy tackle on a Quins player...

A first look at the scrums then. Saracens have the put-in after a Quins knock-on, and it looks as steady as a rock. Billy Vunipola eventually wheels away but he's snuffled out by Danny Care. Even contest so far.

"That should be a message for both teams. If they're going to give penalties away anywhere within 40 metres then they are going to get punished."

  16. PENALTY - Farrellpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

The Saracens response is instant, however. An infringement at the breakdown from the restart gives Owen Farrell his first sight of the posts, and he's as reliable as ever. Back on terms.

  17. PENALTY - Evanspublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

But it's first blood to the away side. Nick Evans is given a kicking opportunity from long range, and his penalty is inch perfect. Brian Moore said they'd need a good start, and they've got one. So far, so good for Harlequins.

  18. OUCH!published at 14:08 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

Slight concern for Quins, who have scrum-half Danny Care on the deck receiving some treatment. Conor O'Shea could do really do without this.

  19. Postpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 17 May 2014

First line-out to Saracens and they gather well inside their own half and get the rolling-maul working. Then the ball is kicked long, and Sarries' Jacques Burger is immediately in the thick of the action. His presence could be key for the home side today.

    Brian Moore
Former Harlequins and England hooker on BBC Radio 5 live

"It's very important for Quins to start well. With Saracens at home, if Quins don't get their running game going early on, it will be a long afternoon for them."
