But the big news, if you've only just joined us, is that Rhys Webb and Leigh Halfpenny were both taken off on stretchers during Wales' unconvincing 23-19 win over Italy at the Millennium Stadium. Both are serious doubts for the World Cup - Webb with a suspected broken ankle, Halfpenny with a knee injury. A full report is up on our website.

"It's like a traffic jam when you're already late," as Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette would no doubt have said had we been able to afford her for a punditry shift. Wales' two injury blows could not have come at a worse time. Thank you, disillusionment.

Thanks Chris. It's hard not to feel a little flat after that match. The injuries, of course, have overshadowed the result - but it wasn't a particularly good Wales performance either. Warren Gatland and his coaching team have 15 days to lift spirits before their World Cup campaign begins against Uruguay at the Millennium Stadium.

  7. France v Scotland (20:00 BST)published at 19:18

We'll continue to chew over the debris of Wales' squad for the next 45 minutes. But at the same we'll look ahead to Scotland's adventure in Paris. That kicks off at 8pm and you can listen to it on BBC Radio Scotland by using the Live Coverage tab at the top.

I will hand over to Mike Whalley, who will wade through the Welsh sadness as well as the Scottish optimism.

  10. Reaction to Wales injury blowpublished at 19:14

    Wales 23-19 Italy

Former Italy lock Carlo Del Fava on BBC Two Wales: "I'm devastated for Wales. From a coaching point of view, all you want to do is select the players who are going to be consistent to give you stability. Rhys Webb and Leigh Halfpenny have given them that. To lose that going into the crucial part of the campaign is just devastating for them.

"I feel really bad for them. They're two players we won't see on the world stage, by the looks of it."

  14. 'The odds are against Wales'published at 19:08

    Wales 23-19 Italy

Former Wales and Lions flanker Martyn Williams on BBC Two Wales: "You can't over-emphasise how important Rhys Webb and Leigh Halfpenny are to Wales. All eyes on the medical team now. It doesn't look good, especially when they're being given oxygen and going off on a stretcher.

"They've just got to regroup when they get back together. But the odds are going to be against Wales, especially if those boys are out. It puts a lot of onus on the players coming in to fill some pretty big shirts."

    Wales 23-19 Italy

Wales captain Sam Warburton, speaking to BBC Two Wales:  "We have a very good spirit in the squad. We had a lot of disruptions today, and we managed to grind out the win. We treated that game as if it were a World Cup match. We got the win. We've won our final two warm-up games, and we can move on to the Uruguay match now."

So, this is bad for Wales. But just how bad?

In the Millennium Stadium there may be a few of those fellas dressed as daffodils sobbing from their stigma (yes, it's a flower term).

    Wales 23-19 Italy

Wales captain Sam Warburton, speaking to BBC Two Wales: "Rhys Webb and Leigh Halfpenny are two key players. We haven't got a clue of the extent of the injuries. We hope they're OK. They'll be assessed over the next 24 to 48 hours and fingers crossed they'll be good, because they're huge players for us. We'll just have to wait and see."
