Former Wales scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

"I think Wales deserved that penalty – they have had the better of the game. Errors are creeping into the French game and Wales will exploit that."

  2. Wales 3-0 Francepublished at 24 mins

Alun Wyn Jones with a big old hit, France really showing nothing at the moment in attack. Gareth Davies with a cute snipe down the blind-side but North fails to react. But it's a Wales free-kick, which Flanquart safely snaffles.

    Jonathan Davies

They've dominated territory and possession. For 20 minutes France haven't had one attack but Wales only have three points to show. They need to be more cutting.

  4. Penalty (Biggar)published at 22 mins

    Wales 3-0 France

Wales find some space, Jonathan Davies kicks through but that's a great pick-up by French flanker Lauret, one-handed. Penalty to Wales, late tackle in the melee. DanBiggar twitching behind the ball like a toddler who desperately needs the toilet but at least this time he dissects the posts.

    Wales 0-0 France

Jules Plisson got closer with his kick from further out, but neither he or Wales counterpart Dan Biggar get any marks for effort.

    Still scoreless.

Not too many fans of Mr Wayne Barnes out there in Twitter land...

Simon Boardman: This game is a mess!

David Phillips: Another fractured slow start to a game thanks to Wayne Barnes and his overly fastidious style of reffing. Just let them play!

James Kenton: This English ref is holding the scrum for far too long before he allows the fly half to release the ball, terrible.

  7. Wales 0-0 Francepublished at 18 mins

Wales put eight phases together but they're inching up the pitch. Eventually Biggar grubbers through an awkward kick and it's a French line-out a few metres out. The French line-out working well at the moment and Plisson humps it clear, the Stade Francais player kicks like a mule.

"The players in the French team do not know each other well enough on the field yet and you can tell by their uncertain movements. They need time to create an identity outside of the French league."

I hope this isn't going to be a scrum-fest with Wayne Barnes dictating the game.

  10. Missed penaltypublished at 16 mins

    Wales 0-0 France

All sorts of fun and games at scrum time, referee Wayne Barnes at his strictest this evening. Down it goes again, France penalty on the halfway line. Barnes seemed to take far too long signalling for Gareth Davies to put the ball in, which made that collapse almost inevitable. But this time Plisson pushes his effort to the right of the posts.

Lots of blue on this graphic which - perversely - is good news for Wales.

Warren Gatland's men have had a hefty share of the ball and field position in the opening 10 minutes.

That kick preparation from Biggar seems to be getting more and more drawn-out, not sure that can help him much, he's starting to look a bit yippy, to borrow a phrase from golf. Biggar under a high one before Jonathan Davies kicks into touch. France line-out, Chouly takes cleanly. Rolling maul from France and they make yards. Vakatawa thinks he's away but the pass from Machenaud went forward.

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

"I was watching Dan Biggar in the warm-up and he was averaging about 18 shoulder turns per pre-kick routine and I was almost exhausted watching him. Taking so long on it was not working in the warm-up and it still isn't now by the looks of it."

    Jonathan Davies

"You can see straight away if he has nailed the kick - he'd walk away.

"Biggar takes so long over the ball now, I don't know how that can help him."

  15. Missed penaltypublished at 10 mins

    Wales 0-0 France

The standard isn't getting much better in Cardiff, Biggar takes an age before striking the ball and when he does he pulls it wide of the uprights.

The importance of the aerial battle is this: When you're constantly conceding territory, you fail to get a foot in the game.

  17. Wales 0-0 Francepublished at 9 mins

Free-kick Wales, France pushing early. Wales elect to scrum again. This time it's Wales fully engaging too early and France get a free-kick. Straight out from Plisson, presumably he thought it was a penalty. Strange start. And here's a penalty for Wales...

  18. Wales 0-0 Francepublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2016

    Rob Jones
Former Wales scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

"It was not a great kick in terms of execution from Biggar but he is just testing the French defence early doors with that attempt."

  19. Wales 0-0 Francepublished at 7 mins

Camara makes a half-break through the middle before Medard's pass clears Vakatawa and goes straight into touch. Scrappy start from France. Biggar with another Garryowen and the Welsh fly-half ends up bouncing off Maxime Medard, before the ball runs loose. Welsh scrum.

  20. Wales 0-0 Francepublished at 4 mins

Biggar hoists another one and Samson Lee collects. Gareth Davies goes on a snipe down the right wing, Roberts steps and finds a hole. Jonathan Davies shows good strength after picking up a loose ball and makes ground. Wales get through 11 phases before France win a penalty at the breakdown. Pressure released...
