For a man who essentially spends his days cooped up in a confined space miles from home, Tim Peake does a remarkable job of popping up just about everywhere.

The British astronaut, who will be tuning in to England v Scotland some 400km above the Earth's surface, has been busy launching the BBC's Six Nations coverage this week.

  2. Cipriani to decide on futurepublished at 19:36

One of the players we expect to see a few picks for on our Get Involved thread via #bbcrugby is Sale Sharks playmaker Danny Cipriani.

Eddie Jones says the door is most definitely open for the mercurial talent with England but, rather than lighting up Murrayfield, tomorrow D-Cip will be leading the Sharks around Welford Road against Leicester.

Just how long he'll be at Sale remains to be seen, with the 28-year-old understood to have a break clause in his current contract amid reported French and fellow Premiership club interest.

"The decision on my future is something I'm going to have to make within the next week or so," he told BBC Radio Manchester's Rugby Union Extra.

"I've not kept Dimes [director of rugby Steve Diamond] in the lurch with anything, we have a very good relationship. We talk very openly about a lot of things, so it's not like he doesn't know what the decisions or options are for me."

  3. Here's Eddie's team...published at 19:34

Who would you have picked for England v Scotland?

Just in case you've been stuck under a rock all week and somehow managed to miss Eddie Jones' first England team announcement, it's probably worth us just whizzing through who'll actually be taking the field in Edinburgh tomorrow.

    The headlines?

Dylan Hartley is skipper, there's room for both George Ford and Owen Farrell in the XV and Chris Robshaw keeps his place despite losing the captaincy.

    England: 15-Mike Brown; 14-Anthony Watson, 13-Jonathan Joseph, 12-Owen Farrell, 11-Jack Nowell; 10-George Ford, 9-Danny Care; 1-Joe Marler, 2-Dylan Hartley (captain), 3-Dan Cole, 4-Joe Launchbury, 5-George Kruis, 6-Chris Robshaw, 7-James Haskell, 8-Billy Vunipola.

    Replacements: 16-Jamie George, 17-Mako Vunipola, 18-Paul Hill, 19-Courtney Lawes, 20-Jack Clifford, 21-Ben Youngs, 22-Alex Goode, 23-Ollie Devoto.

  6. Kicking gamespublished at 19:27

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

When it's as wet as is right now, only the most superglue-fingered players can afford to sling the pill about with abandon, so it's fair to say this one might be won with the boot.

From the tee, out of hand - both teams will look to their play-makers to dictate possession.

Bath, without George Ford on England duty, will have Kiwi stand-off Dan Bowden and Chris Cook in the halves.

Gloucester have the silky James Hook and Kiwi schemer Willi Heinz, as well as Billy Twelvetrees who can kick from that 'second five-eighth' position in the centres.

It could well be as chess-like in the backs as it is a battle of power in the pack.

  7. Head to headpublished at 19:22

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

The West Country derby between Bath and Gloucester is one of English rugby's classic fixtures, and the overall head to head record suggests there's generally not too much separating the two sides.

Gloucester have won 15 Premiership contests to Bath's 19, although the Blue, Black and Whites have come out on top in each of the last five meetings.

Neither side has ever won six West Country derbies in a row.

  9. Wet and wild?published at 19:16

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

Matt Kvesic is another of those players to feel unlucky not to be running out at Murrayfield tomorrow. Instead, he'll be clambering off the bench for Gloucester in the drizzle.

It'll be a big night for the two hookers too - Cherry and Whites 'talonneur' Richard Hibbard (a Six Nations veteran with Wales) and Bath and England's Rob Webber.

Wet ball, big responsibility at the set-piece. Who will come out on top?

  10. Team newspublished at 19:14

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

Gloucester prop John Afoa is named in the starting line-up for the first time since injuring his calf in December.

Mariano Galarza replaces Jeremy Thrush at lock, and Bath-born Billy Burns is preferred at full-back.

  11. Team newspublished at 19:13

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

Bath captain Stuart Hooper returns at lock as one of four changes to the team which lost to Saracens last Saturday.

Max Lahiff and David Wilson replace Henry Thomas and Nick Auterac in the front row, while Kyle Eastmond starts at inside centre.

Replacements: Dunn, Catt, Thomas, Ewels, Ellis, Faosiliva, Matawalu, Clark.

  12. Who's involved this evening?published at 19:12

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

It says a lot about the depth of talent in the Premiership that there is an awfully strong look to both these sides, despite the Six Nations looming.

Few other teams would be able to trot out stars like Kyle Eastmond, Billy Twelvetrees, Ben Morgan and Semesa Rokoduguni...

Let's have a look at both sides for tonight's cracker.

Who would you have picked for England v Scotland?

    Eddie JonesImage source, Getty Images

Is it really 118 days since England turned out against Uruguay in their final World Cup group match?

Alas, head coach Stuart Lancaster has since departed and tomorrow the first English side picked by new boss Eddie Jones will take the field against Scotland.

But who should the Australian have picked? Should Maro Itoje have made the cut? Would you have had Luther Burrell at centre? And has Danny Cipriani wrongfully been omitted again?

Let us know who'd be in your team to face Scotland by using #bbcrugby on Twitter.

  15. A weekend feast of rugbypublished at 19:04

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

The rain is tumbling down at The Rec tonight but it won't dampen any fireworks for this West Country tussle.

Of course, we can't forget the Six Nations this weekend either, and we'll be previewing the big Scotland-England encounter and the rest of the tournament in the build-up to tonight's potentially terrific game.

  16. Oooooarrr! It's derby timepublished at 19:00

    Bath v Gloucester (19:45 GMT)

The thrills and (ball) spills of the Six Nations will take a backseat in the West Country tonight as two familiar foes - Bath and Gloucester - go head to head for precious Premiership points.

Fixture scheduling means the focus remains firmly fixed on events at the Rec, and fans can just about have seen off any hangovers in time for tomorrow's Calcutta Cup encounter between England and Scotland at Murrayfield - that one kicks off at 16:50 GMT.

It's feisty, it's ferocious, it's Friday night rugby union, the perfect start to a Six Nations weekend...
