Four more games followed on Saturday with no shortage of talking points.

Exeter became the latest team to come away from Sale's AJ Bell Stadium empty-handed - winger Nev Edwards among the Sharks' three try-scorers in a 23-17 victory.

Gloucester sent Harlequins crashing to a second defeat in as many games with James Hook notching 18 points for the Cherry and Whites.

Northampton turned on the style with five tries against a hapless London Irish at Franklin's Gardens - captain Lee Dickson with the pick of them.

And Bath narrowly ended their six-game losing run with a 16-14 victory at Worcester - the Warriors' search for a win now stretches back to November.

Newcastle celebrate victory against LeicesterImage source, Getty Images

Newcastle got this weekend's Premiership action off to a thrilling start with a victory against Leicester which lifted them off the foot of the table.

Simon Hammersley waltzed through the Tigers defence for the opening try before Adam Powell added a second to give Falcons a 20-9 half-time lead.

Laurence Pearce crossed to reduce the deficit but the Falcons' defence held firm to see out the final 15 minutes for a 26-14 win.

    Yeah, you've read it correctly.

    That's the score at half-time.

  8. Penalty (Hodgson)published at 40 mins

    Saracens 16-31 Wasps

Saracens almost with the try as they rumble on into Wasps' try line.

Fumble in the line by Marcelo Bosch, but we come back for an earlier offside and Charlie Hodgson notches another three points to his record tally as we close an enthralling first half.

  9. Saracens 13-31 Waspspublished at 39 mins

Mistake towards the end of the half as Dan Robson's box kick goes out on the full.

Back we come for a Saracens line-out on the edge of Wasps' 22.

  10. Saracens 13-31 Waspspublished at 38 mins

Couple of minutes of open, running play from both sides towards the end of this pulsating first half.

Ashley Jackson puts a big run in first for Wasps and then Saracens come back through Mike Ellery.

Eventually, Saracens knock-on through Ellery out wide and we can all catch our breath once more.

Alistair Hargreaves gives a penalty away at the line-out as he takes his opposite number Kearnan Myall out in the air.

  13. try

Try (Hughes, con Gopperth)published at 32 mins

    Saracens 13-31 Wasps

Unbelievable! It's a FIFTH try of the half for Wasps and Nathan Hughes is in again.

Bit of a delay before it's confirmed as the television match official checks there's no knock-on after Hughes picked it up at the breakdown. No infringement and the number eight is in again for a simple try.

  14. Penalty (Hodgson)published at 31 mins

    Saracens 13-24 Wasps

Kearnan Myall is penalised at the line-out by referee Ian Tempest.

Charlie Hodgson makes no mistake from 35 metres out to keep his side in contention.

  15. try

Try (Hughes, missed con Gopperth)published at 28 mins

    Saracens 10-24 Wasps

    My, my, my!

It's another try and Nathan Hughes is the man to get Wasps a bonus point in the bag after just 28 minutes.

He crashes over from five metres out after Wasps drove the attacking line-out through and not even three Saracens players can stop him.

Gopperth goes wide with the conversion.

  16. Saracens 10-19 Waspspublished at 27 mins

An absolute points-fest so far in this first half, and still plenty of time left to play in it.

  18. try

Try (Barritt, con Hodgson)published at 24 mins

    Saracens 10-19 Wasps

Big driving maul from Saracens after the catch-and-drive line-out in the corner.

As it rumbles over Wasps' line, it's centre Brad Barritt who was at the bottom of it.

Hodgson kicks from the tee successfully to narrow the deficit.

  19. Saracens 3-19 Waspspublished at 22 mins

Nick Tompkins makes a burst for Saracens into Wasps' 22 and Chris Wyles is almost in out wide for a first try for the hosts.

He's barged out of touch though as Wasps get the numbers across from 10 metres out.

  20. Saracens 3-19 Waspspublished at 20 mins

First 20 minutes have flown by.

Here's a stat which suggests there's little between the two sides historically, but not on the scoreboard so far this afternoon.
