    Harlequins 13-6 Grenoble

A sudden crescendo of noise rolls around The Stoop and it's with good reason.

Ben Botica's work is done for the night as on trots former New Zealand fly-half Nick Evans for his first appearance since breaking his leg against Gloucester in February.

  2. Harlequins 13-6 Grenoblepublished at 50 mins

Quins have all the possession and territory at the moment but they're struggling to get over the gain line as time and again they are repelled by a wall of red.

    The Grenoble tackling is ferocious!

  3. Harlequins 13-6 Grenoblepublished at 48 mins

Harlequins haven't had much luck moving the ball through the hands so far this half, so Danny Care kicks for the corner and finds touch.

It's a chance to put pressure on a Grenoble line-out that hasn't functioned too efficiently so far.

Wouldn't you know it, this time it all goes to plan for the French and the pressure is relieved.

Where are you enjoying this evening's action? Here's the view from a rather crowded-looking bar in France... Any idea who they might be supporting?

With the slippery conditions, Ben Botica clips a kick behind the Grenoble defence.

Full-back Gio Aplon juggles the ball but eventually gathers before being tap-tackled in goal by Tim Visser.

The French side will be able to clear from a 22 drop out.

We're back under way at The Stoop.

But talking of indiscretions, there's a suggestion coming out of London that Grenoble hooker Arnaud Heguy has complained that he was kicked in the head by Joe Marler as the Quins and England prop walked past him at some point during that first half.

That's likely to be one for the TMO but it's something that Marler could do without.

He is, after all, just back from a ban for calling Wales prop Samson Lee 'gypsy boy' during the Six Nations.

So, Jamie Roberts' try separates the sides at half-time as Harlequins hold the advantage.

But they know that in Jonathan Wisniewski, Grenoble have a man who will take advantage of any indiscretions.

It may be a unseasonably chilly and wet at The Stoop tonight, but I'm sure it's nothing British skier Chemmy Alcott's not seen before...

The winners of tonight's semi-final will meet in-form French side Montpellier or Newport Gwent Dragons in the final in Lyon.

Dragons have been boosted by news that Wales number eight Taulupe Falatau has been passed fit to play after injuring his eye in their defeat by Cardiff Blues.

Montpellier became the first side to win at Sale this season in the semi-finals and are currently second in the Top 14.

OK, so I was wrong there as Nick Easter picked the ball up at the base of the scrum, gave it a good size 14 into touch (I'm guessing his shoe size there, by the way) and followed down the tunnel.

Harlequins are halfway to booking that trip to Lyon on 13 May.

Quins are able to clear their lines after winning their own line-out and then stand firm as Grenoble look to attack again.

The hosts are awarded a scrum with 20 seconds of the first half left. My money is on Danny Care booting it into touch when the ball comes out.

  12. Harlequins 13-6 Grenoblepublished at 37 mins

That's a good kick by Grenoble scrum-half Charl McLeod. The angle of the execution and the wicked bounce takes it away from Mike Brown and takes it into touch.

Harlequins will spend some time inside their own 22 in the lead up to half-time.

  13. Harlequins 13-6 Grenoblepublished at 36 mins

Quins are let off the hook a little when Lucas Dupont spills Danny Care's kick on halfway. You can only be impressed by the kick-chase, though, as that certainly cranked up the pressure on the Grenoble wing.

Grenoble are enjoying a spell of possession inside the Quins half.

A forward pass stops wing Lucas Dupont in his tracks, while Mike Brown has to be alert to catch Jonathan Wisniewski's chip kick and claim a mark.

Grenoble work through the phases themselves, but one loose pass sees Marland Yarde boot it clear.

He's got the pace to beat the defenders but is not quick enough to prevent the ball dribbing out of play on halfway.

  16. Harlequins 13-6 Grenoblepublished at 31 mins

There were 19 phases in that Harlequins attack but they get nothing to show for their efforts as Grenoble turn it over and kick deep.

Mike Brown collects inside his own 22.

Grenoble have already racked up 60 tackles within the first half an hour.

That's punishing stuff. Will that physical effort tell in the second half?

  18. Penalty (Wisniewski)published at 27 mins

    Harlequins 13-6 Grenoble

And what a difference that tackle could make as Grenoble move the ball upfield, are awarded a penalty and Jonathan Wisniewski slots it between the posts with ease from around 30m out.

That's a sweet right boot he has on him.

  19. Harlequins 13-3 Grenoblepublished at 25 mins

Great tackle from Lucas Dupont! Scotland wing Tim Visser looks favourite to run in Harlequins' second try but it's Dupont who wins the battle of the number 11s by grabbing Visser in full flight and dragging him into touch to boot.

Great defence from Grenoble as Danny Care has his arm grabbed as he tried to get his pass away with Harlequins just outside the French 22.

Quins struggle to get their hands on the ball that must be like a bar of soap and must try to attack again from back inside their own half.
