Quins look dangerous when they get Jamie Roberts running at the line with a bit of space. He and Marland Yarde can be effective in that ilk.

Francois Steyn, meanwhile, for the French side is playing beautifully, in that 'second-five-eighth' role. An extra pivot.

    Montpellier get a penalty.

It was a great pass from Francois Steyn, cutting everybody out, but it all came from a knock back by Danny Care, with the ball drifting out on the far side. His desperation to keep the ball in the play has resulted in seven points for Montpellier.

    Harlequins 3-10 Montpellier

Montpellier get the first meat pie of the game and it's Jesse Mogg who finishes it off in the corner.

Owed much to the blockbusting running of Paul Willemse, and then the quick shift Francois Steyn gave the French side with his pass to the left.

The ball went through hands and Mogg, on for Fall, sealed the deal.

    Dimitri Catrakilis added the extras.

  5. Harlequins 3-3 Montpellierpublished at 21 mins

This scrum is deep in Montpellier territory. The French side get a penalty though from that latest infringement.

    It'll be slung to touch.

When the ball is relatively quick from Harlequins, Montpellier look vulnerable to that grubber kick in behind. I'm sure Nick Evans will be alive to that.

First quarter up, and it's tight as a drum.

More than a few hold-ups at the scrum still. Adam Jones has his head on the turf as it collapsed.

Think John Lacey is speaking to the two hookers to try to restore some order at the set-piece.

  8. Harlequins 3-3 Montpellierpublished at 19 mins

Lovely switch of play by Nick Easter in midfield, looked as though Danny Care was peeling for the wrap-around but the ball went the opposite way. Quins almost into the 22.

Then a forward pass releases the pressure. Better from the Quins. Still 3-3.

  9. Harlequins 3-3 Montpellierpublished at 18 mins

Montpellier got within sight of the line but failed to convert the chance and Danny Care almost got to the hack on but it was well covered by centre Anthony Tuitavake.

Benjamin Fall - France full-back for the Top 14 outfit - looks like he's going off injured. A boost for Quins!

  10. Harlequins 3-3 Montpellierpublished at 17 mins

Bit scrappy at the moment. Set-piece penalties. Not a lot of play in the loose.

Montpellier seem have mastered the maul though and they're driving Quins back!

  11. Harlequins 3-3 Montpellierpublished at 14 mins

Nic White's amazing box-kick had some hang-time, enough to bamboozle Mike Brown as he tried to gather in midfield.

Montpellier get a scrum and it looks like it might be driven... until John Lacey penalises the French side for not using the ball.

Perhaps a bit harsh, it was travelling!

  12. Missed penalty (Evans)published at 12 mins

Nick Evans strikes an upright! Then Quins are called offside and Montpellier get a relieving penalty.

    Intriguing contest at the moment.

  13. Harlequins 3-3 Montpellierpublished at 11 mins

Fulgence Ouedraogo and Danny Care brought into the referee's earshot for a quick briefing. Jannie Du Plessis and Mike Brown told to calm down basically!

    Timoci Nagusa committed the infringement.

  14. Harlequins 3-3 Montpellierpublished at 10 mins

You might say that this is an arm-wrestle so far. There's definitely no risks being taken with both teams trying to rack up points when the opportunity presents.

Nick Evans tries to lift a cute kick through to turn Montpellier round and the French side are having to ruck smartly.

However, their enthusiasm at the breakdown has handed Quins a shot at goal again. It's 3-1 in the penalty count after 10 minutes.

  16. Penalty (Catrakilis)published at 8 mins

    Harlequins 3-3 Montpellier

Dimitri Catrakilis clips over the kick from the left side to restore parity, and there's a fair bit of flag waving from the French supporters to celebrate.

    We're level. Quins to kick-off.

  17. Harlequins 3-0 Montpellierpublished at 7 mins

So Quins cough up a penalty at the set-piece themselves and Montpellier take the tee option too. Might be level shortly.

  18. Harlequins 3-0 Montpellierpublished at 5 mins

    Immediate danger from Montpellier!

They turn Quins over in the 22 and Nic White pops a brilliant grubber through.

Marland Yarde scampers back to cover but Montpellier get a scrum 5 away.

    More pressure to come.

As soon as the boos began to ring out a big notice came up on the screen saying 'please respect the kicker'. With that, there was a big French 'no' from the crowd.

  20. Penalty (Evans)published at 4 mins

    Harlequins 3-0 Montpellier

No mistake from the Kiwi stand-off, whose impeccable boot does not betray him.

Nick Evans with the first points and that might settle Quins down.
