Bath have the first attack of the second period but Matt Banahan, with some sloppy hands, knocks the ball on.

So a first look to see if Bristol have sorted out their scrum at the break.

The ball is out quickly and the visitors are making good ground. Rhodri Williams with a neat little kick but try-scorer Jack Wilson is there to mop up and Bath clear their lines.

Bristol will be happy with this start.

The half-time whistle has just gone at Sixways, where Worcester are leading Northampton 10-9.

A couple of late Stephen Myler penalties have brought Saints back into the game after Dean Hammond's early try for Warriors.

Exeter have just retaken the lead at Newcastle - and you guessed it - big Thomas Waldrom has driven over for Chiefs.

Scott Lawson briefly gave the Falcons the lead with a try of his own. It's 14-8 to the visitors with five first-half minutes remaining.

    Quote Message

Bath came into that in last quarter, playing with ball in hand, front-foot scrum ball and getting over gain-line but discipline has been the issue. Bristol started brightly, but when they get ball in hand they go out the back a lot and got some joy. They played good enough rugby to get some points.

    Bath 13-9 Bristol

A good first-half performance by Bristol and they're certainly still in this game.

In fact, it's their best position at the break since the opening weekend of the season, when they trailed Harlequins by a single point.

They've not won yet this season in the Premiership, could this be their first victory?

It's all to play for after the break at The Rec.

  9. Penalty (Searle)published at 40 mins

    Bath 13-9 Bristol

Billy Searle's kick has just enough on it as he adds another three points for his side on the half-time hooter.

  10. Penalty (Homer)published at 39 mins

    Bath 13-6 Bristol

Bath's scrum holds strong once again and Bristol are penalised for offside as the ball comes out.

Adam Hastings tries a little chip kick over the defence but we'll come back for the penalty.

And Tom Homer takes Bath's lead back out to seven points.

  11. Penalty (Searle)published at 34 mins

    Bath 10-6 Bristol

But Bristol survive and earn themselves a penalty.

Billy Searle with another successful attempt at goal and his side are right back in it.

Five minutes to play in the first half and they're within four points of their rivals.

    Bath 10-3 Bristol

Bath are almost in for a second as Max Clark breaks the tackle once again.

He's dragged down just inside the Bristol 22 and the visitors get the turnover.

But there's been a definite shift in momentum and Bath are looking dangerous with 10 minutes to go in the first half.

We call Jack Wilson 'The Slab' - he's a big bit of kit. Tom Ellis broke the line, had the vision to see Jack. First time Bath put together seven or eight phases.

  14. try

Try (Wilson, con Homer)published at 27 mins

    Bath 10-3 Bristol

Matt Banahan gets through the tackle to give Bath momentum and a number of Bath players cause the Bristol defence some problems before Jack Wilson sails over the try line.

His fourth try of the Premiership season and his impact on this Bath side continues.

In the absence of Rhys Priestland, who went off injured, Tom Homer adds the extra two.

  15. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Bath 3-3 Bristol

Bristol are trying to build once again just inside the Bath half.

They keep the width but are pulled for an accidental obstruction and Bath dominate at the scrum to win a penalty.

Their scrum has been excellent so far but they need to keep possession.

  16. Update from Worcester & Newcastlepublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2016

Ollie Devoto has given Exeter Chiefs an early lead at Newcastle, the England back racing half the length of the field to dot down. Chiefs lead 7-0 at Kingston Park after 10 minutes.

Worcester still lead Northampton 10-3 at Sixways after Dean Hammond's try. 20 minutes gone there.

  17. Penalty (Searle)published at 21 mins

    Bath 3-3 Bristol

But Bath's lead doesn't last long as Billy Searle levels things up immediately.

  18. Penalty (Homer)published at 20 mins

    Bath 3-0 Bristol

Tom Homer slots an easy kick for the hosts to land the first points of the evening as Rhys Priestland is carried off the field.

Scotland U20 international Adam Hastings is indeed his replacement, and it will be a big hour for the young fly-half.

  19. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Bath 0-0 Bristol

Bath with a long line-out and they're on the front-foot.

But there are worrying signs for the home side as Rhys Priestland is down injured and with George Ford on international duty, it could fall to young Adam Hastings on the bench to come on.
