Well, that was an enthralling evening of Premiership rugby wasn't it?

A Northampton red card and a late winning try from Vereniki Goneva sees Newcastle come away from Franklin's Gardens with a 22-16 win, moving them up to seventh in the table.

Meanwhile at Ashton Gate, Bristol's bad form goes on with their ninth league loss in-a-row, but they claimed a fourth bonus point of the season as they went down 21-16 to Leicester.

BBC Sport will be back with live commentary of Exeter v Worcester tomorrow afternoon from 16:30 GMT.

  2. Red card 'horrendous' - Mallinderpublished at 21:59 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2016

    FT: Northampton 16-22 Newcastle

Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder tells BT Sport about Kieran Brookes' red card late in the first half:

"He did touch his head and I guess that's why the referee has gone for the red.

"It's horrendous really, I thought we came back in the second half well and really fought our way back.

"We defended well and put the ball in the right positions in the first 20 or 25 minutes."

  3. Bristol stay rooted to the bottompublished at 21:55 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2016

    FT: Bristol 16-21 Leicester

So another game and another loss for newly-promoted Bristol, who are still under the control of interim head coach Mark Tainton after Andy Robinson was sacked.

But unlike London Welsh two seasons ago, Bristol have picked up some points and you feel it will not be too long before they finally get that elusive first win of the season.

    FT: Northampton 16-22 Newcastle

Vereniki Goneva had not had the best of starts to his Newcastle career.

After joining the Falcons from Leicester in the summer he managed just three games before getting injured.

But he returned as a replacement in the loss to Exeter last week and made his mark in his first start since being hurt, setting up the first try and scoring a spectacular third in the win over Saints - the Fijian's first score for the Falcons.
