So Glasgow move top of Pool One after a third win from four matches, three points ahead of Munster, who have played two games less. The Irish province travel to Leicester on Saturday in a game where the outcome might also affect how Glasgow feel about missing out on that bonus point tonight.  

If Munster do the double over the Tigers, after their 38-0 rout in Limerick, then they will remain strong favourites to progress as pool winners. Defeat at Welford Road, though, would keep the Warriors in contention to win the group and add even greater spice and to Glasgow v Munster on Friday, 13 January.

More from Gregor Townsend, talking to BBC Scotland: "It was probably not as satisfying as last week. To win out in Paris, when they had so much ball and actually played really well, was a huge achievement for this team. 

"It was great we went right at them from the kick-off tonight, we looked really dangerous and I felt we were dominant for 50 minutes.  The atmosphere was great and it was a special night. But we need to be better than the last 30 minutes when we come up against Munster in a few weeks' time."

Amid all the back-slapping for a stunning performance - you can read Tom English's match report here - Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend reveals a trace of disappointment at his side's failure to collect a bonus point.  

"A try bonus-point is something we would have dreamed about beforehand against such a good defensive team, so getting the win and points on the board was great.  But when you have scored three tries and there are still 25 minutes to go, it is disappointing we didn't play as well in those last 25 minutes.

"We didn't keep the flow going in the second half, and we will need 80-minute performances in our remaining games against Munster and Leicester."  

Fly-half Finn Russell - the man of the moment - tells BT Sport: "We knew how tough it was going to be after last week, but we almost 'nilled' them. It is amazing for the club and really helps us in Europe. The boys will be happy with that.  It is the forwards who do all the work to give us the ball. Towards the end I switched off a bit, but I was pretty pleased with my game last week, and again tonight.  But it is a team performance."

Finn Russell - who was awarded the man-of-the-match award for the second successive week - beat a remarkable eight defenders this evening. That's eight defenders in one game, against the French champions, playing opposite one of the greatest fly-halves of all time. Seriously impressive fare.

One last salvo from Glasgow with the final move of the game, but it comes to nought. That's it. No bonus point, which the Warriors may come to regret in time, but plenty of satisfaction at a job very well done.    

Racing finally on the scoresheet, a minute from time. Replacement Xavier Chauveau bundles over, and Benjamin Dambielle slots the conversion. 

More magic from Finn Russell, who's clearly enjoying himself out there. Racing appear well set in the Glasgow half but turn it over. Alex Dunbar's clearance kick is charged down, Stuart Hogg can't claim the loose ball, but Russell is there to tidy up a metre from his own line. He could have kicked it, but weaves his way past a couple of tacklers on another mazy run, only for his one-handed pass to go to ground.   

Ryan Wilson is back on for Glasgow after some more treatment. He'll move to number eight, with Josh Strass heading off and Chris Fusaro staying on at open-side.  Alex Allan is also on at loose-head for Gordon Reid.  All the changes have disrupted the rhythm of the game somewhat, but Glasgow are still well in control.

They may have this game in the bag, but Glasgow still require a big effort in the remaining 12 minutes or so.  A bonus point for a fourth try could be vital in such a tight group.  Racing's frustration starting to show, conceding a stupid penalty inside the Warriors 22. 

Two tries in two weeks for Ali Price against the French champions. His fizzing snipe has extended Glasgow's lead - less than 15 minutes left for the hosts to bag an all-important bonus point.

The replacements are coming thick and fast now.  Three more for Glasgow - Mark Bennett for Sam Johnson at centre, Sila Puafisi for Zander Fagerson at tight-head, and Chris Fusaro for number eight Ryan Wilson, who was just down receiving treatment before his departure.

Dan Carter's had better evenings than this.  But it's still a surprise to see the great man tottering off with 20 minutes still to go.  Benjamin Dambielle comes on in his place.

Just as he did last Saturday, Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend opts to change his scrum-half just before the hour.  The crowd rise to acclaim another outstanding contribution from Ali Price, who punches the air in appreciation as he troops off, with co-captain Henry Pyrgos entering the fray. 

Racing put together a decent handling move and replacement prop Cedate Gomes Sa dives for the line, but he can't hold onto the ball in contact and Glasgow full-back Stuart Hogg strips him of it and races away.  Moments later the visitors threaten again, but a superb double tackle from Ali Price and Lee Jones stops Wenceslas Lauret in his tracks, inches from the line. That's three times Racing have failed to ground the ball when a try seemed inevitable.

Racing, belatedly stung into action, advance into the Warriors 22 and win a penalty for offside at the breakdown.  They opt for a scrum...but Warriors repel the initial surge and swarm all over the ball-carrier, who knocks on to give Glasgow a scrum.  High-fives all round for the hosts. 

Russell probing for a gap in the Racing 22.  He's tackled short but Warriors recycle quickly and Ali Price, a try-scorer in Paris last week, shows his pace to burst through the remaining cover to score the third try for Warriors.  Russell misses the conversion, but Glasgow have 32 minutes to score a fourth try and collect a bonus point.  

...comes the chant from the Scotstoun crowd as Glasgow resume where they left off before the interval.  Scrum-half Ali Price, who's had another impressive game tonight after his sterling effort in Paris, shows quick feet to dart through but is held short. Rob Harley and Finn Russell also have a go before Racing win a turnover near their own line.
