  1. CONVERTED TRY - Glasgow 12-0 Racing 92 (Brown)published at 13 mins

Finn Russell is bossing this game, switching play left and right with some lovely passes. Quickly recycled ball sees hooker Fraser Brown hitting the line at pace and he blitzes through the remaining cover.   Russell adds the conversion.

  2. CLOSE!published at 19:58 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Glasgow 5-0 Racing

Brilliant break from Finn Russell, who's started this game full of confidence. Great show-and-go and the fly-half drifts through a gap, but he can't get a pass away to Lee Jones, who would have had a free run-in on the left wing.

  3. Warriors defence on toppublished at 9 mins:

    Glasgow 5-0 Racing 92

Racing are not taking that lying down, thundering into the Glasgow ranks with renewed vigour, But the Warriors are standing up to it. A cracking tackle from Jonny Gray on Machenaud, and another big hit from Glasgow prop Zander Fagerson, repel the visitors.

  4. TRY - Glasgow 5-0 Racing 92 (Strauss)published at 5 mins:

Cracking try from the hosts, sparked by fly-half Finn Russell's break and chip over the Racing defence, collected by Tommy Seymour. The wing races to the 22, passes left to the supporting Stuart Hogg, who feeds inside for Josh Strauss to crash over.   Russell pushes the conversion wide, but it's a great start for the Warriors.

  5. Racing on the attackpublished at 2 mins:

    Glasgow 0-0 Racing 92

As they did last Saturday, the French champions make a strong start. They make good progress down the right flank but Wenceslas Lauret's pass to Teddy Thomas is adjudged forward, much to Glasgow's relief.

  8. Can Glasgow get Carter?published at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Glasgow v Racing 92 (19:45 KO)

All Blacks centurion, two-time World Cup-winner, Super Rugby, Rugby Championship and Top 14 champion, Lions series victor, and arguably the greatest-ever fly-half to play the game - but the Champions Cup trophy is still missing from Dan Carter's bulging trophy cabinet.

This is a massive game for Racing, who have yet to pick up a point from their two matches so far. If they are to triumph at Scotstoun, Carter will surely be key.

He's beaten nine defenders in the competition so far, and made Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg look rather pedestrian as he ghosted past him to touch down in last week's clash.

  9. Nakarawa makes Scotstoun returnpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Glasgow v Racing 92 (19:45)

One of those Hines mentioned is Leone Nakarawa, who became a folk hero at Glasgow before departing Scotstoun for Racing last summer. The Fijian with the offloading skills to die for was relatively quiet by his lofty standards last week, and will be out to make amends tonight.

Nakarawa has been switched to number eight in a much-changed Racing pack. A completely new front five of front-row trio Viliamu Afatia, Camille Chat and Ben Tameifuna, and locks Gerbrandt Grobler and Francois van der Merwe, come in, while hard-bitten back-rower Chris Masoe also starts.

Such are Racing's resources that they left Pumas wing Juan Imhoff at home, and ex-All Black Joe Rokocoko on the bench tonight. French internationals Teddy Thomas and Marc Andreu start on the wings.

  10. 'Some large humans in that team'published at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Glasgow v Racing 92 (19:45 KO)

Former Scotland lock Nathan Hines, who had spells at French clubs Perpignan and Clermont Auvergne during his own career, has been working as a 'resource coach' with Vern Cotter for the national team, and has been explaining why he will follow Cotter to Montpellier this summer.

Hines also had a few observations on the scale of the physical challenge - "they've probably picked the biggest set of forwards ever to be assembled" remarked Glasgow coach Gregor Townsend - awaiting Warriors tonight.

There’s some large humans in that Racing team. Even Camille Chat, the hooker, he’s only a young guy and he’s massive. Francois van der Merwe, Leone Nakarawa, Chris Masoe - everyone’s quite large. Glasgow are carrying some – Jonny Gray, Josh Strauss are big guys – so it’s not like they’re small either, but just the style of play, Racing are used to using their big forwards on a regular basis in a tough league.

    Glasgow v Racing 92 (19:45 KO)

Jonny Gray's already performed his first act of the evening, tossing the coin to decide ends with Racing skipper Maxime Machenaud.  The Glasgow captain is now going through his final warm-up routines with the rest of his Warriors team-mates out on the Scotstoun pitch, with 20 minutes til kick-off.

Is there a better lock in the British and Irish Isles than Gray at the moment? He is surely a contender for next summer's British and Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. But Wales' Alun Wyn Jones, England duo Maro Itoje and George Kruis and Ireland's Ultan Dillane, among others, may have something to say about that.

Which locks do you think Warren Gatland should pick?  And where does Gray rate at the moment?

  13. Perfect 50 & counting for Graypublished at 19:23 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Glasgow v Racing 92 (19:45)

If Glasgow are to prevail again tonight, it's safe to assume their captain Jonny Gray will make another sizable contribution.

As well as his line-out prowess, ball-carrying and 'follow me' leadership, the 22-year-old has made 50 tackles - 11 more than any other player in the tournament - in Glasgow's three European Champions Cup matches to date, missing none.

  14. Still much to do to reach last eightpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Glasgow v Racing 92 (19:45 KO)

Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend reckoned only their 2015 Pro12 final win over Munster ranked higher than last week’s victory, during his time in charge.

But if the Warriors are finally to make that elusive breakthrough on the Champions Cup stage, in Townsend's fifth and final season before he takes over as Scotland coach in the summer, they surely need to win again tonight.

Glasgow are a point behind Pool One leaders Munster, who visit Leicester on Saturday. The Warriors will need to win at least two of their remaining three games (including tonight's), with Pro12 leaders Munster visiting Scotstoun in mid-January before Glasgow complete their pool matches away at Leicester.

Even four wins from six may not be enough, with only the three best runners-up joining the five pool winners in the last eight. As Townsend noted yesterday, "it's still going to be really hard to get out of our pool".

  15. Warriors out to repeat Paris triumphpublished at 19:16 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2016

    Glasgow v Racing 92 (19:45 GMT KO)

Glasgow scaled the peaks of European club rugby in Paris last Saturday, beating star-studded French champions Racing 92 on their own turf.

Can they back up that result at Scotstoun tonight and take a giant step towards qualifying for the Champions Cup quarter-finals for the first time?   We’re about to find out…
