Jordan Williams is forced off for the hosts with an injury, adding to the already large number of players on the Bristol treatment table.

Their defence remains immaculate though - winning another turnover as Bath try to threaten.

  2. try

    Wasps 22-15 Gloucester

A sign of champions is how you respond in adversity and Wasps respond immediately.

Danny Cipriani's grubber kick is too good for the Gloucester backline and Thomas Young helps it back inside to Willie Le Roux to score on his first start for his new club.

Jimmy Gopperth gets the better of the swirling wind to add two more.

Thank goodness for video replays in sport.

David Denton uses his force to dot down in the corner, but yet again Bath are denied by the TMO due to a foot being in touch.

Alby Mathewson is the Bristol man whose tackle saved the day this time.

  4. Penalty (Gavin Henson)published at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

    Bristol 12-3 Bath

Where would Bristol be if this man hadn't been out injured since October?

Semesa Rokoduguni fumbles embarrassingly out of play, and a minute later the hosts have a penalty which Gavin Henson dispatches.

He certainly has the upper hand on his fellow countryman so far.

A quiet atmosphere around Wasps' home ground as it has been all Gloucester at the start of the second-half.

Their efforts are rewarded with David Halaifonua dives over out wide. The conversion is not good so we're all square.

  6. Missed penaltypublished at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

    Bristol 9-3 Bath

Bath are awarded a penalty at the driving line-out, but Rhys Preistland's kick is wayward.

Small margins are going to make the difference in this game, you would think.

Of course we're right in the middle of the Six Nations, where I'm sure most of you are anticipating England's game against Italy later.

But did you know you can watch highlights of all the Six Nations games on the BBC Sport website's video section on rugby?

There you will also find Chelsea boss Antonio Conte's visit to the England camp and why fly-half George Ford supports the Blues.

And we've reached the midway point at Ashton Gate.

All points have come from the boot so far.

Derby games are often close affairs, and this one looks to be no different.

Gloucester have done very well to disrupt the free-flowing Wasps throughout that first 40 and will feel hard done by not to go in, in the head.

The points machine that is Jimmy Gopperth has put Wasps ahead by scoring all their points - two tries, a penalty and a conversion.

  13. Penalty (Gavin Henson)published at 13:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

This time Jason Woodward is wronged and gets a penalty for Bristol.

Similar position, same kicker, same result - Gavin Henson gets more points against his old club.

  14. try

Try (Jimmy Gopperth)published at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

    Wasps 15-10 Gloucester

He scores out wide. He scores from the tee. And he scores from the back of a driving maul.

Wasps set up the line-out maul perfectly, the backs flood in and Gopperth adds his muscle to it to get the ball at the back and put down as they cross the line - the adds the conversion.

  15. Penalty (Jimmy Gopperth)published at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

    Wasps 8-10 Gloucester

With Wasps on the attack, maybe Jimmy Gopperth could have done better with his delayed pass out wide but the hosts earn a penalty anyway.

The Premiership's leading points scorer makes amends as his strike sails between the posts.

  16. Penalty (Gavin Henson)published at 13:41 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

    Bristol 6-3 Bath

Scrum-half Alby Mathewson wins the home side a penalty, and Gavin Henson has the relatively simple task of dissecting the posts.

Line-outs aren't straight, the kicking's not accurate and errors are being made.

This is the biggest crowd Bristol Rugby have had at Ashton Gate this season, but this derby is lacking a bit of quality.

Bath boss Todd Blackadder is already pointing fingers.

    Wasps 5-10 Gloucester

At its best, the Wasps backline is arguably the finest assembled in the country and only added in quality in recent weeks with the addition of South Africa international Willie le Roux.

He's shown a couple of glimpses so far but not been able to have a massive influence on the game.

    Bristol 3-3 Bath

    Tom VarndellImage source, Rex Features

While the game continues into its 30th minute, the Premiership's record try-scorer Tom Varndell has a disagreement with the Bristol doctor.

He took a knock to the head and wanted a quick return to the pitch after his head injury assessment, but the experts clearly feel he should stay off for the time being.

Varndell looks far from happy with the decision.

  20. Missed penaltypublished at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2017

    Wasps 5-10 Gloucester

He was two from two before this strike, but former England regular Billy Twelvetrees gets his angles and his strike all wrong from the penalty.

That said, Gloucester enjoying their afternoon at the Premiership leaders so far, enjoying lots of ball.
