Eddie Jones in attendance tonight and many of his usual England squad have had very good starts to this game.

Remember, those English boys not on the Lions tour have the chance to impress on a two Test tour of Argentina this summer.

This is a hard watch. Not in terms of a spectacle, but how much the players are putting into this.

Very few stoppages, lots of phases and this is brutal, high level rugby.

Henry Slade just over cooks an attempted kick over the top and Harlequins have themselves a line-out.

    And we're all square.

Harlequins looking so dangerous with ball in hand whenever they're in the Exeter 22, but an offside stops their flow and Nick Evans opt for an easy three points.

    Harlequins 5-8 Exeter

From that scrum, Harlequins run lines, hit gaps and generally look ominous close to the Exeter line.

A couple of big hits in the Chiefs defence and then a Mike Brown knock on stop that attacking play.

    And there he goes again.

Kai Horstmann picks up from the back of a scrum and takes a couple of steps before smashing into Chris Robshaw, who forces the Exeter number eight to knock the ball on.

He takes a bit of a bashing but is back on his feet after some treatment.

They're trying to back up that try by searching from another but the Harlequins defence is just as equal this time.

Chris Robshaw et al win a turnover. The England blindside flanker is already at 10 tackles for the opening 20 minutes.

Back from his injury problems, Dave Ewers picks up from the base of a ruck and powers through tackles to cross from a couple of metres out.

The move is set up by a sublime bit of skill from Henry Slade - a show, a burst of pace, he's around the defender and setting up James Short and from that ruck they score.

Slade's work with the boot not as good as he misses the conversion.

Exeter's style might not be as easy on the eye but they've had plenty of possession at a time when defence is probably at its best at the start of the game.

We've got the first scrum of the match after a Mike Brown knock on.

Forwards and backs offloading, hitting gaps and looking to keep the ball alive as much as possible from Harlequins.

The only thing that seemed to stop a second try was Olly Woodburn stretching up and preventing the ball from going over him where there was an overlap.

A chip and chase is brought back by referee Wayne Barnes who spotted an earlier infringement.

Time is stopped as Exeter prop Carl Rimmer receives some treatment.

They might not have been at their most fluent best at times this season, but with all their internationals back Harlequins have started very brightly with ball in hand.

Much for John Kinsgston to be pleased about.

  13. Penalty (Slade)published at 8 mins

    Harlequins 5-3 Exeter

They have to take three points this time.

Exeter's attacking set earns them a penalty right in front of the sticks that Henry Slade easily knocks over.

Rob Baxter's side straight back at their opponents.

This time they make good metres with ball in hand, started by an excellent break by Carl Rimmer.

They're deep in Quins territory on the attack.

    What a start this is.

Exeter keep the ball for the first two minutes from kick-off but don't make many in roads into the defence.

Strong carries by Mike Brown, Kyle Sinckler and Jamie Roberts get Quins to within striking range before Matt Luamanu crosses out wide.

Nick Evans is way wide from the tee.

    Harlequins v Exeter (19:45 BST)

    • Harlequins 19-40 defeat to Saracens at Wembley last weekend ended their two match winning run.
    • Quins have lost just once at home in the Premiership this season - 18-27 to Leicester in round 16.
    • Exeter have won their last five league matches, are unbeaten in the last 12 rounds and obtained a try bonus in their last six to tie Leicester’s record set in 2012.
    • If Exeter tally another bonus point win they will become only the second side ever to record a maximum 30 league points from six successive Premiership matches.
    • Exeter have won their last five Premiership matches against Quins since the Londoners won 30-29 at Sandy Park in May 2014, although Harlequins did win 29-15 when the two clubs met at Twickenham Stoop in the Anglo-Welsh Cup in November.
