It was a great wide pass from Barclay to Dunbar, that got them on the front foot. Finn Russell starts it, Ross Ford finishes it"

  3. TRY Italy 3-27 Scotlandpublished at 49 mins

    Ross Ford

Absolutely sensational try from the Scots.

The Scots drag Italy all over the place with quick, off-loading rugby. Finn Russell is at the heart of it and his pass out the back-door sends veteran hooker Ross Ford over for his second try of the night.

Much more like it for Gregor Townsend.

  4. Yellow cardpublished at 48 mins

Things go from bad to worse for Italy as lock Dean Budd is sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes for repeated infringements.

  6. TRY Italy 3-22 Scotlandpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

    Ross Ford

Scotland start the second-half as they finished the first - with a try.

Ben Toolis once again rises highest to claim the line-out near the Italian line and the defence can do nothing to stop the rolling maul powering over.

Ross Ford is the man who eventually grounds, although it seemed to me the referee awarded the try a good second or so before the hooker actually touched down.

Russell adds the extras and the Scots are well on top.

  10. 'Humidity sapping Scots energy'published at 13:57 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

    HT: Italy 3-15

    Andy Nicol
Former Scotland international on BBC One

"The first five minutes from Scotland was great and the last five minutes of the half was great. In between the pace of the game completely disappeared. They struggled to get their second wind. The humidity has completely sapped their energy."

  11. HALF-TIME Italy 3-15 Scotlandpublished at 13:54 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

Well it hasn't always been pretty but Scotland take a commanding lead into the half-time break.

They started they game at a break-neck speed but the energy levels have been sapped by the stifling humidity at the Singapore National Stadium.

However, tries from Ali Price and Tim Visser late in the half have put Scotland 12 points to the good.

  12. TRY Italy 3- 15 Scotlandpublished at 40 mins

    Tim Visser

Scotland strike a double-blow right on the stroke of half-time.

They put Italy under pressure from the restart and when the ball is recycled Finn Russell puts in a delightful chip kick which Tim Visser gathers to score.

Duncan Taylor steps in to take the conversion and nails it.

    Quote Message

Ali Price, he's got so much pace. He's running around the Italian hooker - he's never going to get to him

  14. TRY Italy 3-8 Scotlandpublished at 39 mins

    Ali Price

    At last the breakthrough.

The Scots take a quick tap and Tim Visser almost breaks through. Ali Price feeds Allan Dell who loses control of the ball but Price is on it in a flash to brilliantly gather and race past the cover defence and dive over in the corner.

Terrifc play from the Glasgow scrum-half.

    Quote Message

"Scotland need to get points here, they really do. You really want to finish off the points before half-time"

  16. Scots pressingpublished at 36 mins

    Italy 3-3 Scotland

Scotland force a penalty at scrum-time and Russell pings the ball into touch for a 5m line-out.

Toolis rises to take it and the maul rolls towards the line but the ball squirts out the back. It is re-gathered and Toolis looks to crash over from a couple of yards out but is held up.

The Scots are awarded a penalty for an Italian offside.

  18. Errors the order of the daypublished at 30 mins

    Italy 3-3 Scotland

The Scots have a line-out 5m from the Italy line which Ryan Wilson claims. Ali Price feeds Tim Visser who comes into the line at pace but the referee blows his whistle for a bit of blocking by Allan Dell.

Rather sums things up at the moment. Real lack of accuracy from both sides.

  20. Scrappy Scotlandpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 10 June 2017

    Italy 3-3 Scotland

    Tom English
Chief sports writer, BBC Scotland at Singapore National Stadium

"This is so reminiscent of Scotland's lacklustre performance in the humidity of Tokyo last summer.

"It's actually not as humid in this stadium as we anticipated. The Scots have trained all week in more stifling conditions than this.

"First 20 minutes of the Gregor Townsend era have been scrappy."
