    What a series.

    It's been a pleasure. A nerve-shredding, stomach-churning, cold-sweat-inducing pleasure.

    Thanks for your company.

    Until South Africa 2021.

"Given the schedule, given how tough the tour was, to come to New Zealand and get a draw you've got to be proud of that.

"We felt we didn't play that well tonight but it was a game for defences tonight.

"If you'd said six weeks ago 'come to New Zealand and draw a Test series' we'd probably have taken that.

    On THAT penalty:

"I thought it was a penalty to us, Kieran Read jumped in and he's hit the player in the air.

"In fairness to the man next to me (Sam Warburton) he's been able to talk the man in the middle into giving an accidental offside.

"I was disappointed with the scrum penalty under the post, so it'ss swings and roundabouts. The result was a fair reflection of where the tour is at."

Jonathan Davies for man of the series. Maro Itoje has been immense and a future Lions captain for sure but Davies' work in defence and attack was sublime! Deserved.

    Peter, Oxford

Daniel Howes: Man of the series for me was Taulupe Faletau, just edging out Maro Itoje. But truly they were all giants.

Both sides were tremendous. There will be some really disappointed Lions players out there. Imagine what they have been through.

Playing for their country trying to get on the tour, the long lead-up, the media hassle throughout the tour and they were right on the edge of history.

They truly believed they had enough to take that Test match.

Considering the game, the quality of the play and the intensity of it, there's so much more to talk about than that incident.

    Steve Hansen press-conference continued:

"Go back to the World Cup and the same thing happened to Scotland who didn't progress in the competition because they didn't use the video.

"This time they did, had a little pow-wow. His initial instincts were that it was a penalty but in the team of three one of them suggested it was accidental.

"If we had scored another try ourselves it wouldn't have been such a problem. We can't control the refs."

I think it should be extra time. To go through the series they've gone through and with nobody really happy, everybody has gone away a bit flat.

But in a few weeks it will be a moral victory for the Lions.

This was one of the hardest tours ever put together and no-one ever gave them a chance.

New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen:

"It's come down to the wire and we've ended up with one hand on the trophy each which is a bit like kissing your sister.

"But it's been a wonderful advertisement for rugby. I'm proud of our team. We've had a few things not go our way with injuries but we didn't quibble about it and got on with it.

"We always said we would come out of this series having learnt more about ourselves and we've done that.

"We all know what happened and we all know what probably should have happened.

"As little kids we are told to take the good with the bad and we have to do that. It's a decision the ref has made and we will live with it.

"If you ask me questions on that, that's all I'm going to say on it."

  16. Law book deep divepublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 8 July 2017

FT: New Zealand 15-15 British and Irish Lions

Right, let's start that deep dive into the law book.

This is the case for Romain Poite awarding a penalty for Ken Owens' touching the ball after Liam Williams knocked on off that 77th-minute kick-off.

    RulesImage source, World Rugby

But this is the interpretation that he eventually sided with.

    LawsImage source, World Rugby

It all seems to hinge on Romain Poite's sympathetic opinion that Owens could not get out of the way of the ball.

    Generous.

  18. Thoughts on penalty? 'Poite does Lions a favour'published at 11:15 British Summer Time 8 July 2017

FT: New Zealand 15-15 British and Irish Lions

    Martyn Williams
Former Lions and Wales flanker on BBC 5 live

It should have been a penalty to the All Blacks at the death. Romain Poite has done the Lions a huge favour there.

Whether he's bottled it, only he knows. You very rarely see a referee change his decision.

We've got the rub of the green but it would have been so tough to see either of those teams lose tonight.

We'll be talking about this for about 100 years.

It was an unbelievable Test match but if the All Blacks had had a goal kicker in the last two Tests, they would have won.

  19. Thoughts on the late change of call? 'It was penalty'published at 11:10 British Summer Time 8 July 2017

FT: New Zealand 15-15 British and Irish Lions

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC 5 live

Ken Owens was in front of Liam Williams, he had plenty of time to skirt out the way and not touch the ball.

He went to play the ball, then took his hands away. That was a sign he'd made a massive error, that was a penalty.

  20. Thoughts on the late changed call?published at 11:10 British Summer Time 8 July 2017

Stuart Mitchell: Accidental offside was 100% the correct call. And the same call that Joubert should have made in the world cup

T Mac: Excellent decision by the the ref to recognise the true nature of the offside Brave man

Pete Branch: Rubbish call ref ruined the game.
