Townsend's team on the risepublished at 08:30 British Summer Time 17 June 2017
FT: Australia 19-24 Scotland
A famous win in Sydney for Scotland as the Gregor Townsend era continues to build towards something special.
Finn Russell was again the standout performer, and he crossed the whitewash along with Duncan Taylor in the first half, only to be pegged back by two Israel Folau touchdowns.
Will Genia's try put the Wallabies in front after the break, but an extraordinary Hamish Watson try, finishing off a sweeping move, gave the Scots an advantage they would not surrender.
Some phenomenal defending saw the Scots over the line for a win that moves them up to an all-time high position of fourth in the world rankings.
They round off their summer tour against Fiji in Suva next weekend. Join us for that but right now go and join my colleague Alex Bysouth for live text coverage of the Maori All Blacks v the British & Irish Lions.
Thanks for your company and contributions.
All the best.
