  1. Landmark for Fordpublished at 50 mins

    Australia 12-17 Scotland

Ross Ford is off the bench to replace Fraser Brown. It's a landmark 109th cap for the hooker as he equals Chris Paterson's appearance record for the national team.

He scored two tries last weekend. How Gregor Townsend would love him to maintain his scoring form today.

  2. Hooper hammers Russellpublished at 47 mins

    Australia 12-17 Scotland

Michael Hooper appears to be a little fortunate to get away with a late hit on Finn Russell after the Scotland 10 puts boot to ball.

Russell looks daggers at the Australian number seven, who responds with a Cristiano Ronaldo-style wink.

Ryan Wilson is back on after 10 minutes in the bin.

  3. Foley foiledpublished at 45 mins

    Australia 12-17 Scotland

Bernard Foley, back on the field after a spell in the sin bin, sucks in Scottish defenders near the try-line and looks to offload to Karmichael Hunt but he looses the ball forward.

From the scrum Ali Price makes a few metres and the Aussies infringe at the breakdown to allow the Scots to kick upfield for the line-out.

    Australia 12-17 Scotland

Matt Scott is on for Rory Hughes after that eye injury for the wing.

Worryingly for Scotland and the Lions, the cut to the cheek Finn Russell picked up against Italy has reopened and blood is running down his face.

Hamish Watson suffered a blow to the head while competing on the ground for a loose ball but he seems fine to continue.

  6. Chance lostpublished at 42 mins

  10. HALF-TIME Australia 12-17 Scotlandpublished at 06:53 British Summer Time 17 June 2017

That was an entertaining first-half of international rugby. Not perfect by any means but an intriguing match.

Scotland have crossed the whitewash twice through Duncan Taylor and Finn Russell, but the Wallabies have responded with a brace of tries from Israel Folau.

The Scots will start the second-half with Ryan Wilson in the sin bin so they can expect the Australians to come at them hard after the break.

  11. TRY Australia 12-17 Scotlandpublished at 40 mins

    Israel Folau

The Scots can't resist the pressure and the Aussies get their try with the last play of the half.

With the Scots short of numbers on the right-hand side, Bernard Foley aims a cross-field kick towards Israel Folau and it's a mismatch as the big full-back towers over opposite man Greig Tonks to gather and score.

  12. YELLOW CARD SCOTLANDpublished at 39 mins

    Ryan Wilson

Some slick handling in the Australian back-line cuts the Scots open and Ryan Wilson is left with no option but to kill the ball on his own line.

No surprise to see him sent to the bin.

  13. Sloppy Wallabiespublished at 06:48 British Summer Time 17 June 2017

    Australia 7-17 Scotland

    Tom English
BBC Scotland chief sports writer at Allianz Stadium, Sydney

Huge psychological moment there as Scotland escape their own 22 without conceding. More and more of those little victories are required if the Scots to see this out.

What will encourage them - apart from the lead - is that Australia are not finding the space they normally find. They're being sloppy in possession, the Wallabies. A strange kind of hush inside the stadium

  14. Brown turns on the burnerspublished at 36 mins

    Australia 7-17 Scotland

Scotland break through the Australian defence again and it's a footrace to the line but unfortunately the man with the ball is hooker Fraser Brown.

He is caught and when he tries to offload to the supporting Hamish Watson the ball is lost forward.

Huge amount of handling errors in this match, though that was a great break from Brown.

  15. Holding firmpublished at 33 mins

    Australia 7-17 Scotland

As you would expect from an Australian side the Wallabies come back strong and start battering at the Scottish line.

They force a line-out on the Scottish 5m line but they lose the ball forward from the rolling maul and the Scottish boys roar their approval after surviving that onslaught.

  17. TRY Australia 7-17 Scotlandpublished at 27 mins

    Finn Russell

Will Genia takes an age to take his clearance kick from deep in Australian territory. Finn Russell is on the scrum-half and charges the kick down, gathers the ball and is over under the sticks.

Russell converts and Scotland lead by 10 again.

Not a bad way to mark a Lions call-up, eh?

  18. YELLOW CARD AUSTRALIApublished at 25 mins

    Bernard Foley

We said the battle of the 10s would be important and so it is proving.

After a period of Australian pressure Finn Russell gets his hands on the ball and breaks out. He kicks ahead into space and is then taken out late by his opposite man Bernard Foley.

It was late and he gets a deserved yellow card.

  19. TRY Australia 7-10 Scotlandpublished at 20 mins

    Israel Folau

    Well that didn't last long.

The response from the Wallabies is immediate and emphatic.

Will Genia feeds Bernard Foley on the Scotland 22m line and he whips a gorgeous long spin pass to Israel Folau arriving into the line like a freight train from full-back. Nobody is stopping the big man at full tilt and he breaks through to score.

Foley converts and Australia are back within three.

  20. Scotland bossing itpublished at 06:29 British Summer Time 17 June 2017

    Australia 0-10 Scotland

    Tom English
BBC Scotland chief sports writer at Allianz Stadium

The Allianz Stadium has gone very quiet here. Scotland have completely bossed the opening 18 minutes of this game and now they have the points to show for it. Duncan Taylor nickname Screech - see BBC Scotland interview with Ryan Wilson for details - puts the Scots into a 10-0 lead.

Here come the Wallabies, but this is already an intriguing game
