Great hands from the visitors as they respond with a neat passage of play from their own half. Now Johnny Sexton, who was hit late by Adam Ashe, fails to find touch.

Stuart Hogg gathers and leathers the ball from one end of the park to the other - the bounce on the artificial pitch sending it out of play.

Ruaridh Jackson has performed superbly in the full-back role this season, but you see why Stuart Hogg has been parachuted straight back into the starting 15. His searing pace and electric footwork scares the life out of teams and he sliced through the Leinster back-line there.

    Glasgow Warriors v Leinster (13:00)

"We are expecting another arm wrestle. It'll be a brutal encounter."

That was Glasgow head coach Dave Rennie's assessment yesterday. We'll find out if he's right soon enough, with the players trotting out of the tunnel to much clamour.

With the artificial pitch slick with rain, Finn Russell, Johnny Sexton and Stuart Hogg will fancy launching a few testing kicks and then it could could get messy, although the plastic means no old fashioned mud to add to the fun.

Glasgow prevailed in the first continental clash in November 1999 but since then it's been five on the bounce for the Irishmen.

"It was touch and go for him playing last week, so he's been able to focus on Glasgow and we expect a big performance from him."

    Glasgow Warriors v Leinster (13:00)

Scotland full-back Stuart Hogg makes his first appearance of the season for Warriors.

The 25-year-old has recovered from a shoulder operation but has not played since departing the British and Irish Lions tour with a facial injury in June.

Head coach Dave Rennie said yesterday that Hogg was "jumping out of skin" in anticipation of getting back out on the pitch, adding: "We expect his energy to be infectious."

Ruaridh Jackson has filled the number 15 jersey admirably in Hogg's absence but he gets a rest today.
