In the end, Exeter's pack was so dominant, so professional and so skillful that it was a comfortable win.

This final will be a massive game - Exeter Chiefs and Saracens are the best two clubs in the country.

Exeter forward Thomas Waldrom told BT Sport:

"I think in the first half we didn't do much defending and when that's the case you feel a bit fresher. Big credit to the boys - we've worked hard all week and it showed in the result today.

"I love this place. I don't know why it just clicked down here - I have to give credit to the coaches and the players.

"It brought a tear to my eye when I came on and I had to wipe them away so I could see the ball!"

Exeter scrum-half Nic White told BT Sport:

"I think the scoreline probably doesn't reflect how hard that was and how hard Newcastle made that game for us.

"But none of that matters now, we go onto next week now.

"We're having fun, we're working hard and we'll see where it takes us."

The Chiefs, with a whopping 68% possession and 73% territory across the piece, were just way too good for Newcastle Falcons.

This has been a scrappy old second half, with infringements from both sides spoiling the ebb and flow of the game. This time Exeter are the guilty party, allowing Newcastle to kick to touch.

The Falcons are treating the ball a bit like a hot potato, but three or four handling mistakes in succession somehow send it backwards each time and still they pour forward...

Newcastle actually manage to steal it, but Toby Flood's pass is a forward one and the move breaks down.

It just about sums up the Falcons' afternoon, in truth.

Exeter have a scrum inside the Newcastle half, roared on by a jubilant home crowd - now very much looking forward to another trip to the capital next week.

There was a little bit of chink in the armour then when Newcastle scored, but Exeter snuffed that out with seven points of their own and that charge down for Newcastle's conversion by Lachie Turner really lifted the Chiefs again.

The try is ruled out for an earlier obstruction from Don Armand, however, sparking boos from the home crowd.

I can't imagine it'll really matter in the grand scheme of things, mind you.
