  2. McInally relishing Creevy duelpublished at 20:18 British Summer Time 23 June 2018

    Argentina v Scotland (20:40 KO)

Both sides are led by their hookers, and Scotland captain Stuart McInally is relishing the prospect of going head to head with Agustin Creevy, who wins his 74th cap tonight.

"I'm really excited to go up against Creevy," McInally said. "I think he's one of the world's best and has been for a while.

"It's going to be a great challenge. He's a phenomenally good scrummager, so I'm looking forward to testing myself against him."

  4. Townsend's selection 'curve ball'published at 20:11 British Summer Time 23 June 2018

    Argentina v Scotland (KO 20:40)

    Tom English
Chief sports writer, BBC Scotland in Resistencia, Argentina

"Very few people could have successfully second-guessed Townsend's thinking on this one, but the idea of wanting Fraser Brown and Stuart McInally on the field from the start against the brutality of the Pumas is wholly understandable.

"It's the physicality they bring, but also the leadership. Among other things, Scotland had a leadership deficit against the USA last weekend."

  5. McInally returns to lead Scotlandpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 23 June 2018

    Argentina v Scotland (KO 20:40)

Tour captain Stuart McInally has recovered from injury to start for Scotland. The Edinburgh hooker missed the win over Canada and defeat by United States with a calf strain.

His return is one of eight changes made by coach Gregor Townsend to the side beaten 30-29 in Houston.

Tim Swinson is the only forward to be retained, moving from the back row to his more regular second-row berth.

Allan Dell and Simon Berghan come in to form an all-new front row alongside Edinburgh team-mate McInally, while Grant Gilchrist returns to partner Swinson in the second row.

Fraser Brown, a hooker by trade, starts his first Test at open-side flanker, having filled in there as a replacement for the last half-hour of the defeat to the USA. Magnus Bradbury lines up on the blind-side, with David Denton at number eight.

Townsend retains faith with the young half-back pairing of George Horne and Adam Hastings, with Pete Horne and Nick Grigg forming the centre partnership.

Blair Kinghorn, whose performance was perhaps the one bright spot of Scotland's defeat in Houston, moves from right wing to left wing. Dougie Fife and Stuart Hogg make up the back three.

  6. 'Fight-or-flight' for Scots in Resistenciapublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 23 June 2018

    Argentina v Scotland (KO 20:40)

Well after the humbling in Houston, Scotland look to bounce back this evening and round off their summer tour with a win over Argentina in Resistencia.

"Fight-or-flight" is how centre Pete Horne described tonight's encounter with the Pumas, who themselves are coming off back-to-back defeats to Wales.

There is no erasing the stain of the shock defeat to the USA, a loss Gregor Townsend will not have wanted on his CV. Win tonight and the tour can be viewed as a decent exercise for blooding new talent. Lose, though, and some will be questioning just how beneficial this trip has been as Scotland build towards the 2019 World Cup.
