    Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill is delighted with the bonus-point win

    "We spoke all week about this team coming of age and hopefully this is the start," he tells BBC Radio Scotland.

    "It's a step on the way for us. I think it will be hard for us to come out of this group but we will give it a good shot.

    "It was our day today but we had to earn it.

    "We were really decisive and we were the better team. We should be proud of that but now we need to build on that.

    "I'll enjoy watching Newcastle v Montpellier tomorrow, then I'll be focusing on Zebre (in the Pro14) next. That's what we need to do. We have to show our mettle as a squad."

    I don't think I have seen an individual performance as good as Bill Mata's. He has been unbelievable today. What he brings is the best bits of everyone else. He is one of the best carriers, one of the best off-loaders, and he has put in some massive tackles and won turnovers. He has almost got the point of difference of others wrapped into one.

    Edinburgh take over at the top of Pool 5, with an impressive bonus-point win and that is probably that as far as Toulon are concerned, with the three-time champions of Europe suffering back-to-back defeats.

    Richard Cockerill's side are right in the hunt ahead of the forthcoming double-header with Newcastle in December.

    Bonus point time... Chasing an unlikely comeback, Toulon are undone throwing the ball around near their own posts. Francois Trinh-Duc is spun round in a tackle and lobs the ball into the grateful arms of Chris Dean, who touches down for Edinburgh's fourth try.

    Edinburgh blast their way up the centre with a series of fancy flicks and offloads but Mathieu Bastareaud stands firm to win a penalty and suddenly Toulon are on the attack and there is a huge gap on the left flank for Daniel Ikpefan to exploit.

    Francois Trinh-Duc adds the extras.

    Darcy Graham snaffles the bobbling ball in his own half and sets off on a searing run, weaving his way through a series of grasping hands before Francois Trinh-Duc manages to get fingertips on the hem of his shirt to stop the Edinburgh winger.

    That has to be one of the best cover tackles I have ever seen! Tuisova was almost in the act of scoring, but Berghan came from nowhere to get a hand on him and pull him into touch.

  14. What a tackle! Josua Tuisova looks like he's about to crash in for a try in the corner but here comes replacement prop Simon Berghan with an astonishing last-ditch intervention, bulldozing the Fijian winger into touch.
