    A groan around Twickenham.

Former England international on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

England are not letting them off the hook, they have clear game plan and not letting France get away with anything. France have not had one gift at all from England. Have France rolled over, or have England been that good?

    HT: England 30-8 France

    Simon Gleave
    Head of sports analysis, Gracenote

This is the sixth time in the Six Nations era that England have scored 30 or more points in the first half of a match in the competition. Their next opponents Wales are the only team yet to concede 30 or more points against England in the first 40 minutes.

However, it is not England's biggest half-time margin in the competition against France. Ten years ago England were 29-0 up at the break.

    HT: England 30-8 France

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

The game is 100% won. A former French player said to me earlier that England could be the death of French rugby today.

With everything going on behind the scenes with coaching and the administrative side of it, he thought that if England give France a walloping, they could be in for a couple of difficult years.

Damian Penaud has had a fine game for the French.

The 22-year-old, the son of former France fly-half Alain, has run for 69 metres and beaten five defenders - both game-high totals.

    England 30-8 France

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

England have given France a 40-minute lesson in how to play Six Nations rugby. They are playing error-free rugby. They've been so disciplined.

  9. May's hat-trickpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2019

    HT: England 30-8 France

Once, twice, three times a try-scorer.

Jonny May, who twice crossed by dotting down kicks ahead, has been the model of effeciency.

He has made just 10 metres with ball in hand, but scored three tries.

Five tries and 40 minutes later, it is half-time.

Great entertainment, especially if you are English.

  11. 'Unselfish Sinckler'published at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February 2019

    England 30-8 France

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

I’d love every player to give Sinckler a tap on the back, most forwards would have slowed it down but he went into scrum half after Ashton should have passed it. He was unselfish and deserves praise for that.

  12. try

Converted try - England 30-8 Francepublished at 40 mins

    Henry Slade (con Farrell)

England rack up the bonus point before the break!

It is yet another kick through that does the damage. Ben Youngs' poke is pounced on by Chris Ashton. Only Gael Fickou despairing clutches keep the Sale wing from going over.

But it is a matter of time. Kyle Sinckler, in at scrum-half, throws a big pass to Henry Slade, who jinks inside a mis-matched Guilhem Guirado to score.

Another two for the pile as Owen Farrell lands the conversion.

    England 23-8 France

France have chucked caution to the wind. They are running from deep and throwing high-wire offloads.

If they are going to go down, they are going to get artistic marks on their way.

Pick your headline - Twickenham is awash with cavorting and chum-hugging as England's heavyweight carriers put France on the ropes for Jonny May to apply the coup de grace.

Try - England 23-8 Francepublished at 35 mins

    Damian Penaud

    Try stands!

A great score from France, a superb finish from Damian Penaud, some questionable tackling from the England defence as Yoann Huget broke through.

Morgan Parra misses the extras, but that adds some modesty to the scoreboard for the visitors.

    England 23-3 France

Damian Penaud, who has been superb for France, dives into the corner after a weaving run from Yoann Huget.

I can't see any reason not to give it. But Nigel Owens is having a look...

  17. Postpublished at 33 mins

    England 23-3 France

That is England's first hat-trick in the Six Nations since Jonathan Joseph did a number on Scotland at Twickenham in 2017.

Can France at least stem the bleeding until the break?

    England 23-3 France

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

This is relentless, if you are in a blue shirt you have nothing in the locker. England are so synched up at the moment, that was so instinctive from Ashton.

If New Zealand were doing this we would be heralding the most amazing 30 minutes we have seen in years and years. To do it again this week is not easy.

  20. try

Converted try - England 23-3 Francepublished at 29 mins

    Jonny May (con Farrell)

Hat-trick! In less than half an hour!

France are being picked off like training-ground fodder by England's spike-sharp attack.

Morgan Parra spills the ball forward as he tries to collect a bomb on his own 22m.

Chris Ashton is alert to the space, Jonny May is already on the move. Ashton puts boot to ball, May plunges his hands down on it as it bobbles over the try line.

France being minced to foie gras.
