    The visitors clear their lines and Ireland are straight back on the front foot.

    Ireland go from right to left, and back again, before Antoine Dupont picks Conor Murray's pocket.

    But we're coming back for the earlier penalty and Johnny Sexton stabs the ball deep into the French half once more.

    Video replays show the ball was knocked out of the ruck by Cian Healy on the ground.

    The Irish prop is adjudged to have knocked on and the decision is reversed.

    France kick to touch and Ireland have a platform to attack again.

    The men in green surge towards the line but they are kept out just short of the line. The ball spills backwards and over the white line from the base of the ruck, and Antoine Dupont is man-handled to the ground.

    Johnny Sexton looks to switch the angle of attack with a cross-field kick, but Yoann Huget calls the mark with a good catch as he falls backwards.

    Iain Henderson catching that first line-out that led to Rory Best's try was key because France had read it, but he got in front of the French jumper and kept the team's momentum going.

    Ireland have had the better of the physical encounters, have held the ball and worked their way down the pitch.

    They have managed to threaten the French line so it's been a really positive start.

    Ireland are eventually penalised for a knock on in midfield and France have the scrum just inside the Irish half.

    Ireland roll through the phases with a real confidence before Jacob Stockdale nudges the ball into the French half with the boot.

    The Irish winger has the ability to get the home support of their seats because of his sheer pace, but this time the ball evades him and trickles out of play behind.

    Ireland already profiting from much better tactical kicking in the opening minutes.

    Garry Ringrose fired a great early kick into French territory and from the resulting clearance Jordan Larmour took the ball right up to the line before a super kick in behind that gave Ireland that early foothold. The rest was Ireland at their clinical best.
