England knew it would be tough in the first 20 minutes, and they would have expected this arm wrestle, but they will want to kick on now and score more points.

If at first you don't succeed...

England go for another maul and make better progress this time. They make it across the tryline, but the ball is held up.

Ireland get the ball out of the scrum cleanly, but they're holding on at the next breakdown.

The maul was moving forward initially, but goes down around the 5m line to give possession back to Ireland.

Botterman was clearly keen to make amends. The prop gives a huge roar as she wins back a penalty for England.

The Red Roses kick to touch and opt for a maul off the line-out.

The scrum has collapsed this time and Ireland take the penalty as Hannah Botterman goes down.

Kelly Smith takes advantage and brings the Red Roses up towards the halfway line. England have so much speed on the wing.

England have gone too early in the scrum. Ireland free-kick.

The hosts decide to run it. Katy Daley-Mclean is a bit too quick off the mark and leaves a gap for Michelle Claffey to break through.

Nicole Fowley has had enough of running and kicks to touch. England botch their line-out, but Sene Naoupu gives them a lifeline. The Ireland centre knocks on.

Ireland are playing the phases really well.

England are pushing up and putting them under pressure but the hosts are retaining the ball really well.

That was a fantastic carry by Sarah Bern. She is like a baby rhino and she clears through a few tackles to gain England some yards.

Ireland win the ball back, though and are attacking just inside England's half.

Nicole Fowley finds a gap behind the England line and kicks over. Eimear Considine can't get on the end of it but there's plenty of pressure on England's line-out just outside their 5m line.
