  1. try

Postpublished at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    England 0-0 Italy

Beatrice Rigoni goes to kick from the back of the ruck but Leanne Riley is far too speedy for her.

She charges it down and dots it down behind the try-line. But she's knocked it on. No try.

  2. 'England should boss the scrum'published at 12:13 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

England have a strong dynamic pack and I'd expect to see England pushing Italy back in the scrum.

  3. Postpublished at 4 mins

    England 0-0 Italy

The first scrum collapses but England drive forward on the second attempt. Katy Daley-McLean chips over the top for Kelly Smith to chase.

But there's too much on it and it bounces into touch.

    England 0-0 Italy

Giacomoli thinks better of playing on and leaves the field.

    England decide on a scrum.

  5. Postpublished at 12:11 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    England 0-0 Italy

Hooker Lark Davies sends the ball long to Abbie Scott and Sarah Bern makes her first carry of the day as she barrels into the Italy defence. Suspect we'll see that more than a few times today.

England kick and are awarded a penalty at the breakdown. This looks to be within kicking distance.

  6. 'Italy have started well'published at 12:09 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    England 0-0 Italy

    Heather Fisher
2014 Women's World Cup winner on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It's a great start by Italy, they look organised and structured defensively and good in attack.

  7. Postpublished at 12:09 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    England 0-0 Italy

Giacomoli is looking very unsteady on her feet, but eventually limps back for the line-out.

  8. Postpublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    England 0-0 Italy

But Valentina Ruzza has clearly had her espresso this morning and breaks through.

Beatrice Rigoni puts up a brilliant kick and it bounces before going out.

On the other side of the field, prop Gaia Giacomoli is already down getting treatment.

  9. Postpublished at 12:07 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

    England 0-0 Italy

Emily Scarratt boots the ball over the top and Italy attack from just inside their own half.

The Azzurre swing the ball out to the right but England's defence is solid and they make no progress.

A massive cheer from the Sandy Park crowd as England come out and a rousing rendition of God Save the Queen.

Three sides of Sandy Park are full, a fourth almost the same.

    They know this one though.

Natasha Hunt has a huge grin on her face as she looks at the crowd belting out God Save The Queen at her.

    Heather Fisher

England are doing well, but I think Italy are going to push. England are very structured, Italy are unstructured, it will be chaotic rugby but nothing England cannot deal with.

  15. Postpublished at 12:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 March 2019

Time for the anthems. Italy are up first. The Devonshire crowd don't seem to know the words to this one.

While England head coach Simon Middleton isn’t taking part in the ground-wide rendition of ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’ he does look quite relaxed.

Victory for his side today would all but guarantee another Six Nations title, but second-placed Italy could be their toughest test so far.

Scrum-half Sara Barattin leads Italy out on her record-breaking 88th appearance.

Then Sarah Hunter leads England out to a huge cheer from a packed Sandy Park. That's got to feel special for the Red Roses.

    England v Italy (12:05 GMT)

Victory today would see England win the title with one round left to play.

The Red Roses are top of the table and on course for a Grand Slam after claiming bonus-point wins against Ireland, France and Wales.

Italy are a close second after two wins and a draw in the first three rounds.

Being an England player looks so fun. I'm very jealous.
