    Sweet as a candied chestnut.

Handre Pollard drops back into the pocket and clips over the three-pointer from the New Zealand 10m line like it isn't a thing.

Four points the difference. How those nerves?

New Zealand give away a penalty as lifter Patrick Tuipulotu topples the airborne Eden Etzebeth in the line-out. It was accidental, but dangerous and South Africa will clear their lines.

That was a poor pass out from Le Roux and he's done that a few times. Your execution at this level has to be absolutely pinpoint otherwise the players around you can't fulfill their roles.

It was Willie Le Roux who made the pass to Cheslin Kolbe as South Africa made that break wide. It was a bit behind Kolbe and forced him to check.

He would have been into the corner I think with decent ball.

A turnover from the All Blacks in the shadow of their own posts!

    And they are running it!

Sevu Reece tears down the wing, feeds Beauden Barrett who attempts an outrageous banana grubber off the outside of the slipper.

Damian De Allende does brilliantly to deny him.

Breathless stuff, played at a stratospheric standard.

Searing break from Faf de Klerk!

And Cheslin Kolbe takes it on out wide.

Hauled down just short. New Zealand are at sixes and sevens....

Francois Louw I think will make a big difference at ruck time for South Africa. He can be a real menace.

How has that shaken up the snowglobe?

South Africa are a converted score away with half an hour to play.

The outcome of that equation is not so clear.

An enormous gap at the base of the ruck and du Toit needed no second invitation. South Africa are back in it!

    Pieter-Steph du Toit (Con Pollard)

    A poacher's try.

And the All Black game-keepers left the gate wide open.

The fringe defence is left undermanned as New Zealand fan wide to defend 15m out.

Pieter-Steph du Toit picks and goes and is under the posts.

Cheslin Kolbe! Stepping off each foot and putting the hammer down.

What a break, just Richie Mo'unga to beat...and the All Black fly-half does superbly to shut down the space when isolated one on one.

Just a reminder that England were thumped 36-0 by South Africa in the pool stages of the 2007 tournament and came within a slice of Mark Cueto's patella of turning the result around in the final.

Don't read too much into today's outcome and the 2 November final.

New Zealand win a penalty at scrum-time as the front rows head south.

All Black prop Nepo Laulala pops up and gives a daggers death-stare to his Bok opposite number.

    Feisty.

Beauden Barrett has copped a boot to the face. Plenty of blood from the nose, it might well be a break.

But he doesn't want to come off, jogging back into position and swerving a medic.

I think he will have to go pretty soon.

We saw [South Africa head coach] Rassie Erasmus - he was very measured. It's no use getting emotional. It's asking how they're going to get on top, how they're going to improve what they're doing.
