    England 21-3 Tonga

Some fine breakdown work by Sam Underhill as he scrabbles and scrapes to secure the turnover.

First change for England as Joe Marler rests up the pegs and Ellis Genge is off the bench and off the leash.

Good defence from England. That all came from the maul from their own line out, driven forward five or six yards. They forced Tonga to repeatedly kick the ball back to them and eventually there was a crack in the armour.

    England 21-3 Tonga

Tonga are playing some canny stuff, keeping things tight and tidy between the bursts of pyrotechnics.

Jonny May does well to claim a steepling Sonatone Takulua box-kick.

But on the opposite wing, Anthony Watson gets another dose of Polynesian power as full-back David Halaifonua bumps him backwards.

Manu Tuilagi showing in that first half why he is so critical to England's hopes of going deep into this World Cup. A spluttering performance given power and direction by the outside centre's strength and running lines.

Nothing complicated about that, launching Tuilagi into the midfield. That's the pace that we were talking about in the first half. England quickly in and Tonga with no option other than to concede a penalty or a break.

    England 18-3 Tonga

Tonga stray offside up near halfway after Manu Tuilagi draws in defender like flies to manure.

Owen Farrell is going to take his shot at goal from near the Tonga 10m. It is a decent distance hoof, but the angle is benign.

Owen Farrell gets the nod from referee Paul Williams and drops out up to the Tonga 22m.

Cleanly taken by ex Northampton wing Nafi Tuitavake, who has come at the break.

Some Tonga fans are trying to get a Mexican wave going.

It took them five or six goes of shouting at those in front of them then running along to get others involved but they managed it in the end.

Manu Tuilagi is incredily strong and changes direction so well even in small areas. He's hard to double-team because he has the footwork to get out of it.

He's maturing too now and knows when he should come into the game more.

With Billy Vunipola he gives the side momentum and allows the likes of May and Watson the space to run. He can create havoc by his decoy runs.

Bradley Lineker: These comparisons with New Zealand totally misunderstand how this English side is set up. It's designed to out-power the better teams in the world rather than outplay them

Ninos Simon: Re: 12:41, probably a tongue in cheek comment but very unfair to compare this to the New Zealand game. Every player raises their levels when it comes to the World Cup

    Yes.

World Cup karaoke has begun. An extremely cheesy-sounding announcer with an American accent has just said, 'It's time to get this party started. Let's hear you sing Wonderwall.' And now the lyrics are on the screen.

There has been some attempt to bring the competing nations' tunes to each match. There has been Queen, Blur and Madness already in the first half after positive moments for England.

    Danny Care
Harlequins and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

All you want to see is for England to keep it simple. I think the discipline has been a problem for England. If they can get the ball, play with some tempo and physicality, they'll score some tries.

    Matt Dawson

It hasn't been great. Strategically a little bit strange for me but they got into their rhythm last 15 or 20 minutes. They realised that if they go through the phases and maintain their accuracy then they're going to walk in some tries.
