Both Dragons and Scarlets welcome back some of their Wales internationals following their post-World Cup break.

Wales back-row Ross Moriarty is in line to make his first Dragons appearance of the season after being named on the bench.

The 25-year-old has been struggling with a virus picked up during the World Cup in Japan.

Scarlets also welcome back two Wales players for the first time this season. Hooker Ken Owens and centre Hadleigh Parkes return for the visitors at Rodney Parade, their final Wales players returning after their post-Japan rest.

If the last meeting between these two sides is anything to go by, we could be in for a cracker at Rodney Parade.

Dragons defied the odds to beat Scarlets 34-32 in a nine-try Judgement Day thriller at Principality Stadium back in April.

That ended a run of nine straight defeats for the Gwent region against Scarlets. What chances of another try-fest today?

    Croeso! Welcome!

It's the first Welsh derby of the Pro14 festive schedule as Dragons welcome Scarlets to Rodney Parade.

Dragons have shown signs of improvement under new director of rugby Dean Ryan this season, and they're currently fifth in Conference A with two wins from seven games.

Scarlets, meanwhile, have been in fine form under their own new boss, Brad Mooar - who is expected to join New Zealand's coaching staff - with five victories from seven to take them up to fourth in Conference B.

You'd think Scarlets are favourites - they've won nine of their past 10 meetings with their Gwent-based opponents.

But what is that cliche about form going out the window for derbies? Dragons did win the last time these two met...
