I thought that Sale had the power in the pack to overcome this Harlequins side but fair play to Quins, they looked like they wanted it more, the attitude and energy was there.

Maybe home advantage is still a thing.

It's been all about the penalties tonight because bar the odd try there has not been too much great rugby breaking the teams open, it's just been penalties giving people opportunities to get field positions.

It's almost been like a game of NFL, penalty kick, penalty, just working up, phase by phase.

28 penalties in the match is a huge number.

It's an encouraging win for Harlequins.

A try apiece on the night, but ultimately it was the boot of Marcus Smith which was the difference on the scoreboard.

Hand shakes all round as the players head for their respective changing rooms.

Far from a classic, but Harlequins won't care as they have picked up a big scalp and a big win on the Premiership's return.

Sale disappointing and they miss the chance to close the gap on leaders Exeter.

Good response again by Quins after conceding points sees them press Sale back inside their 22.

Getting the full on medical attention too from two fully PPE-clothed on-site medical staff to get his bandage on.

Shot at goal taken by Sale for an earlier offside and AJ MacGinty's first act after coming off the bench is to slot a penalty over.

We're back to a six-point game.

Sale within inches of snatching a try back as the Will Cliff grubber kick nearly got chased by Denny Solomona and then Manu Tuilagi.

Out of touch it goes though on the dead ball line and we'll come back for an earlier Quins infringement.

No try against his former employers as yet for Chris Ashton, but when he has had the ball out wide for Quins, he's looked a threat.

Simon Hammersley meanwhile back on for Sale to get them back to full strength.

Faf du Klerk has in fact now made way at scrum-half for Sale to be replaced by Will Cliff.

His big box kick with his left boot on his 22-metre line has some height but Quins are able to keep hold of it inside their own half.

The body language of the Harlequins players shows they are energised especially Marcus Smith, he is bouncing around the place in comparison to Sale, their players have their hands on their hips and taking rests when they can.

Faf de Klerk has not quite been as sparky as he normally is and when you've got a key player like that who everyone looks to, to make something happen, when they are a small percentge off their game it can really effect you.

The Quins pack doing a number as it stands on Sale but Joe Marler has a look that suggests he won't want to see any slack from his team-mates until they hear the final whistle.
