Over it goes. The Saracens steamroller is picking up pace. Can Finn Russell or one of Racing's backline magicians throw a spanner in the spokes?

You wonder if someone like Owen Farrell has got into the dressing room at half-time and said something like 'boys do you realise this is it? We are 40 minutes away from never playing with each other again and our legacy has gone'.

You feel like something has been said and the importance of this has dawned on the Saracens side.

Maro Itoje bear-hugs Dom Morris off the La Defense Arena astro.

The replacement centre's superb chase and hit on Simon Zebo dislodges the ball on the Racing 92 22m.

Brad Barritt very nearly feeds some gasmen lurking out wide. Instead the ball goes down.

Back for the first knock-on. Scrum black. 22 metres out...

Saracens have definitely started the second half better. Racing prop Georges-Henri Colombe shovels on a pass that was never on in midfield.

Perfect start for Saracens. Not only in the points but in the way they are playing.

And who has been central to it all? Billy Vunipola. Two or three carries with lovely footwork and making himself a menace.

    And we are back level.

This is going to be a nail-biter through to the clock turning red isn't it?

    Penalty to Saracens.

Antonie Classen stuck out a hand to try and grab Alex Goode's pass. He succeeded only in flapping it forward.

A deliberate knock-on and yellow? No, decides Nigel Owens. But it should be a simple three for Alex Goode...

I think Sarries will take 9-6 because out of that 40 minutes they can work on a strategy that can cause the Racing, particularly their back three, problems.

If Saracens can keep hold of the ball and play in the right areas consistently I think they will get the opportunities with penalties and maybe the odd try.

    Teddy Iribaren

At least we think it is.

Teddy Iribaren steps up and hammers a penalty towards the sticks with the final act of the first half. It is high but it is straight enough?

The flags go up. But did referee Nigel Owens agree that it hadn't strayed from the width of the uprights?

Let's go with 9-6 for now...

With the talent that Racing have if you blink out of position once you are in trouble. The vision of Finn Russell. Any other player on the planet clears the ball but he spots a mismatch.

Now then. A Finn Russell pass gives Teddy Thomas space on the left wing. Thomas chips ahead and chases like fury. Elliot Daly gathers but has no choice but to run the ball into touch.

Success for Georges-Henri Colombe in his set-piece battle with Mako Vunipola. The Saracens loosehead is pinged for popping his opposite number through the sunroof at scrum-time.

Saracens have found their niche and found a pattern that works.

And even on a retreating attack the default is to bang it up, get the chasers and line speed and pounce on any mistakes.
