It's been a very loose opening quarter and Finn Russell is starting to play with fluidity.

The fly-half tries one of his trademark chip throughs, which he manages to claim, but his kick wide from the following phase is too long.

The best and worst of the Scottish maverick.

    Exeter 14-5 Racing 92

Speaking to BT Sport, Exeter head coach Rob Baxter says: "It was a fantastic start to get the two tries but I'm a little concerned with us defensively. We are almost moving after the event so it's definitely an area which we can tighten up in.

"Defences ultimately win games, so I would like us to move on a little bit from where we are now."

The England centre throws the ball back inside but Jack Maunder is caught by the covering Racing defence.

    Well then.

Racing hit back as they surge into the Exeter half.

Finn Russell produces a bit of magic as his brilliant pass finds Simon Zebo on the wing.

Exeter's Tom O'Flaherty is caught out by the flight of the ball and Zebo runs in Racing's first try.

I don't think I've watched a final and thought so early on how are Racing going to win this?

It is their nature to play wide, wide, wide because that's Finn Russell's 'game but they are just playing into Exeter's hands.

You have to be on point and not make any errors. Exeter are so calm and collected and steady.

    Too easy.

Racing line-up, expecting Luke Cowan-Dickie to carry the ball, but the hooker taps the penalty and shifts it wide.

Sam Simmonds eventually powers over from close range and Exeter are flying in their first European final.

Younger brother Joe kicks the conversion.

Rob Baxter remains unmoved in his chair.

Teddy Iribaren has had a poor start to the game and he throws Finn Russell a hospital pass behind his own try line.

The Scotland fly-half knocks on before Exeter scurry through and ground the ball, but we'll come back for a five metre scrum for the Devonian's.

Racing are shooting themselves in the foot here.

Matt Dawson and I both played in finals in Europe and the atmosphere is so different this year, but these sides are well up for it.

You have to work your way into finals but Racing are doing a brilliant job of working Exeter into this game.
