    Dragons 10-13 Ospreys

The Dragons opt for the driving maul which edges closer and closer to the try-line before it is dragged down by the Ospreys.

Another penalty to the Dragons and again the hosts opt to kick to touch. Will that prove to be the right decision?

  2. Replacementpublished at 43 mins

    Dragons 10-13 Ospreys

Elliot Dee is on early in the second half for Dragons, in place of Richard Hibbard.

Harrison Keddie wins a Dragons penalty at the breakdown, the hosts opt to kick to the corner instead of taking the points.

It's pretty entertaining actually - the Ospreys have tried to keep the ball in hand.

Mat Protheroe has looked sharp. George North has looked sharp.

Again, the Dragons have tried to keep up with the Ospreys by keeping the ball in hand, but their execution has not been brilliant.

An entertaining half. In fact probably the most exciting 40 minutes of the Welsh derbies so far with the lead going back and fore.

Ospreys started and finished the period well with Dragons, inspired by Jamie Roberts' attacking running lines, shading the middle periods.

All to play for in the second-half at a very cold Rodney Parade.

Wales have some second-row injury issues ahead of the start of the Six Nations with Alun Wyn Jones, Jake Ball and Will Rowlands all struggling.

After being left out of the Autumn Nations Cup, Adam Beard has been outstanding for Ospreys and will be in contention for Wales coach Wayne Pivac in 2021.

Beard has already stolen a Dragons lineout tonight. One to watch.

  9. Half-time - Dragons 10-13 Ospreyspublished at 18:00 Greenwich Mean Time 9 January 2021

The Dragons are penalised again at the breakdown, this time Ashton Hewitt is the guilty party for not releasing the ball.

The Ospreys end the half with an attacking line-out in Dragons territory but a knock on brings the first half to its conclusion.

Time to put the kettle on, we'll be back shortly for the second half at Rodney Parade.

  10. Penalty - Dragons 10-13 Ospreyspublished at 38 mins

    Stephen Myler

It's all Ospreys now to end the half, much as it started.

Dragons are caught offside under their own posts and the Ospreys opt to take the easy points, which Stephen Myler gratefully kicks over.

  11. Replacementpublished at 37 mins

    Dragons 10-10 Ospreys

Not a good sign for Dragons, as scrum-half Tavis Knoyle limps off the field. On comes Rhodri Williams in his place.

Converted try - Dragons 10-10 Ospreyspublished at 33 mins

    Mat Protheroe, con Stephen Myler

Sustain the pressure Ospreys did as Mat Protheroe scampers over in the corner to score the visitors' first try of the match.

There was some lovely build up play from Wales wing George North, who showed his strength to push back a handful of Dragons defenders.

Stephen Myler successfully kicks the conversion from the tightest of angles, and Ospreys are level.

Spare a thought for the ground staff at Rodney Parade.

The already less-than-perfect playing surface will need to be ready to go again tomorrow evening when Newport County host Brighton in their FA Cup third round match.

    Dragons 10-3 Ospreys

Well after a quiet opening 10 minutes from the hosts they have burst into life now and deservedly lead.

The Ospreys, who have been guilty of starting slowly in recent weeks, will need to withstand this pressure while Luke Morgan sits out the remainder of his time in the sin bin.

Converted try - Dragons 10-3 Ospreyspublished at 25 mins

    Jared Rosser, con Josh Lewis

And the Dragons take advantage of the extra man immediately.

Jamie Roberts is really enjoying himself out there so far with a number of powerful carries.

And Jared Rosser is the beneficiary on this occasion, the wing picks the ball up after a classic Roberts run to cross in the corner.

Speaking of penalties, here is another and with it a yellow card.

With Jared Rosser free out wide on the right Luke Morgan intentionally knocks the ball on to stop the attack, referee Dan Jones brandishes the yellow card.

    Dragons 3-3 Ospreys

The penalty count is already going up quickly here, the Ospreys guilty on this occasion of holding onto the ball in the ruck.

Josh Lewis will have the chance to set up an attacking line-out from a promising position here.

  18. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Dragons 3-3 Ospreys

Rhys Webb is involved again, this time passing the ball straight into referee Dan Jones.

No harm done though, Ospreys will have the scrum just inside Dragons' territory.

    Dragons 3-3 Ospreys

Rhys Webb's attempted box kick inside his own 22 is blocked by Tavis Knoyle but the Dragons scrum-half then knocks the ball on and Ospreys clear their lines.

    Dragons 3-3 Ospreys

We've got a bit of a kicking tennis at the moment. It all ends in a line-out for Ospreys just outside their 22.
