There are definitely nerves out there but neither team has had a challenge like this since they last played in November, and the difference in defence, the line speed and the physicality is huge from their previous matches, but I think we'll see it open up in the second half.

Pretty sure this is the most exciting 30 minutes of rugby I've ever seen without a score.

This final is living up to its billing so far.

Emily Scarratt is coming back on after passing her HIA, so Lagi Tuima trots off.

Caroline Drouin's kick fades away to the left in the breeze and we are still scoreless.

The move keeps going across the pitch, but England give away a penalty and France have the chance to go ahead.

This is great stuff - France attack down the left and brilliant handling keeps the move going in face of some superb English tackling.

England get to within five metres for a series of scrums, but France's pack continue their fine work to push them back and win a free kick.

Then lock Madoussou Fall rampages down the left wing as France get into England's half for the first time in a while.

This is a huge test for 22-year-old Lagi Tuima. The centre is on for her eighth England cap, replacing the captain with 60 minutes remaining in the Women's Six Nations final.

If ever there was a chance to seal your place in the World Cup squad...

Nearly cute and clever from Laure Sansus - a lovely pick up from a scrum and then a kick over the defence goes straight into touch. Nice idea, though.

I know Emily Scarratt has struggled with a knee and ankle injury through the week but I'm shocked because I've never seen her miss a kick like that.

That's a shocker - Scarratt's effort is wide from close range!

France come in from the side and England get a penalty just off to the left of the posts. Emily Scarratt has the chance to make amends.

We're nearly halfway through the half and no score - this really is a tight one but England have had the best of the last few minutes.

You could hear the scream from Emily when she missed that kick. She'll be really frustrated because it was well within her range but she'll be really tuned in for any further kicks.

But her effort, from an angle to the left of the posts, faces away to the left and the England skipper screams in frustration.

A chance for England to get ahead as Emily Scarratt lines up a penalty...

It's a bit breezy at The Stoop, and a few throws have gone astray - the latest England one is over the top and loose, and France clear from near their own try line.
