That's it from us at the Principality Stadium.

South Africa's eight-year wait for a victory in Cardiff is over.

They proved why they are the world champions, sticking to their game plan and converting pressure into points when it mattered.

Wales can take heart, it was a real arm-wrestle and they were much improved from last weekend's heavy defeat against New Zealand.

    Thanks for joining us today.

We hope you'll join us again next weekend when Wales take on Fiji.

    FT: Wales 18-23 South Africa

A quick statement from Principality Stadium manager Mark Williams on that pitch invader: "We condemn this type of behaviour in the strongest possible terms. He was intercepted and immediately escorted from the stadium and handed over to South Wales Police."

  3. Wales coach Pivac rues 'fine margins'published at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    FT: Wales 18-23 South Africa

Wales head coach Wayne Pivac felt it was a game his side could have won.

He told Amazon Prime: "It was a massive effort from our boys and obviously disappointed not to hold on in the last 10 minutes.

"It was a game where there were some fine margins, we lived on the edge and we gave away a couple of penalties. One right on half-time which I thought we didn't need to give away and then one towards the end which gave them that lineout drive.

"That was probably the difference in the end."

  4. 'A proper Test match'published at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    FT: Wales 18-23 South Africa

Wales captain Jonathan Davies told Amazon Prime: "It was a proper Test match day, an arm wrestle for 80 minutes.

The boys dug deep and showed a lot of physicality, we'll probably look back on that and say our discipline cost us.

"I can't fault the effort, but it's frustrating."

"Wales is a very strong team, all our concentration was on this specific game.

"We knew Wales would start well. This is very special for us to start the tour and now we focus on the next game."

    FT: Wales 18-23 South Africa

Wales wing Josh Adams told Amazon Prime: "I've been on the wrong end of results against South Africa a few times now.

"I thought we deserved to win given the performance for the majority of the game. It's just that last 10 minutes that's cost us unfortunately and the game got away from us.

"We weren't clinical enough and perhaps didn't take all of our chances."

  8. 'Never lost here'published at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2021

    FT: Wales 18-23 South Africa

Man-of-the-match Frans Steyn told Amazon Prime: "I'm just happy we won. I've never lost here so it's pretty awesome.

"I love this place, it's definitely one of the best anthems in the world, the people sing it incredibly well.

I don't know where we go after this but we keep on fighting and grinding out wins like this."
