A brutal lesson for Scotland. France were light years ahead in every department.

It looks like Les Bleus are on their way to the title after running in six tries at Murrayfield. Wales and England stand in their way and those two are kicking off shortly at Twickenham.

Scotland go to Rome next and finish off in Dublin.

  2. 'Absolutely horrible for Scotland'published at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    FT: Scotland 17-36 France

Scotland captain Stuart Hogg cuts a dejected figure as he gives BBC One a quick interview.

"At times we played decent rugby, but we let ourselves down at vital times," he says. "Credit to France, they took their opportunities but did they have to work hard for the first three tries? Probably not, and we are bitterly disappointed with that.

"Myself, I let one go and we could have changed the momentum of the game and that is something I am devastated about.

"You have to be on the money for 80 minutes in Test match rugby. It is absolutely horrible for us."

The scary thing is they have a bit of improvement in them. They can play in a number of ways and they have certain players who can get tries out of nowhere.

Any reasons to be cheerful for Scotland?

    Rory Darge.

The 22-year-old number seven was fantastic on his first international start.

He got a try and was a real tiger in defence. The lad has a big future ahead of him.
