Racing 92 13-10 Sale
Akker van der Merwe pulls back Racing wing Teddy Thomas as the try-scorer hacks on and looks to get across once again.
The crowd jeer. They want a card or a penalty try.
They will have to make do with a shot at goal.
Thomas (con Le Garrec)
I'm not sure I have ever seen anything quite like that before...
Teddy Thomas gathered a Finn Russell, but his momentum seemed set to carry him into touch.
The Racing winger leapt into the air, while simulatanously dropping the ball onto his instep to grubber infield.
He landed out of play, but without the ball, scampered back onto the pitch and dived on the ball to dot down.
Superb. As was Nolann Le Garrec's conversion.
Racing 92 6-10 Sale
What!?
This is absolutely outrageous from Teddy Thomas!
But was his foot in touch? We go upstairs...

Sale overran their options but it actually sat up nicely for Manu Tuilagi. The defence parted like the Red Sea and it's a run in. You could not get anything easier in a European quarter-final.
Tuilagi (Du Preez)
Try stands!
Nothing wrong with that at all. Maybe something wrong with Finn Russell's defence, who allowed Tuilagi to piroutte into space and score.
But Robert du Preez chips over the conversion to send Sale down the tunnel four points clear.
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
Manu Tuilagi!
The Sale centre has been quiet so far but as the ball goes to ground to wrong-foot the Racing defence, he gathers, spins and surges through a gap and under the posts.
Was he offside from a knock-on though? We are checking...
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
Not straight. A horrible dart from Akker van der Merwe.
Racing could opt for the scrum, but are running scared of the set-piece. Instead they go for the line-out.
And Racing's throw is crooked as well!
Scrum Sale, 20m out.
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
Nick Schonert's ear is more bloody than a bleu steak fillet. The Sale prop is wining his scrum battle though.
Another penalty at the set-piece. Sale kick up into the Racing 22m to claim a quality attacking platform.

The line out is a prime opportunity for Sale but they are lucky if they win the ball, and if they do, it's very scrappy.
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
There is a a lot of chat out there between the two front rows. Referee Andrew Brace's microphone is full of it as he awards a penalty to the visitors for some scrum skulduggery by Racing.
A chance for Sale to clear their lines.
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
Racing with some of the bubbly vintage stuff.
Finn Russell flicks a pass off his fingertips to beat the rush defence, but his team-mates narrowly fail to join the remaining dots. Teddy Thomas can't gather a pass that is slightly behind him.
Ball goes forward. Scrum Sale, five from their own line.
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
First blot on Nolann Le Garrec's work as the teenage scrum-half bites off more than he can chew, taking on a long range penalty and coming up well short.
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
Sale with a monstrous defensive set, the highlight being pocket Superman Faf de Klerk lofting Camille Chat towards the rafters before Akker van der Merwe rattles the Racing man with a big shoulder over the top.
Tasty.

The game feels like it's going from set piece to set piece and there is not a lot of flow. Finn Russell lives on momentum but it isn't working out like that at all.
Racing 92 6-3 Sale
Finn Russell's first crossfield dab, but that is down the throat of Luke James at full-back for Sale.
The vistors are building well here, just outside the Racinig 22m.
But Lood de Jager coughs up the pill and Racing will have the put-in to the scrum.
Rob du Preez
This is the smartest fringe work this side of Claudia Winkleman's stylist.
Faf de Klerk is whip smart to slap the ball out of the hands of a dawdling forward.
Racing are offside in their attempts to tidy up.
Rob du Preez punishes them off the tee.

Racing did such a good job of slowing Sale's momentum, but Sale's pick and go game was really good and they just needed a bit more patience there.
