  1. Irish sport savours momentous victorypublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 16 July 2022

    Full-time: New Zealand 22-32 Ireland

One would almost tempted to go down the 'Sir Edmund Hillary, Jacinda Ardern.....your boys took one hell of a beating' route but we won't rub it in on on our New Zealand friends and instead merely savour this momentous series victory.

After the First-Test pummelling at Eden Park, you would have got long odds on Andy Farrell's men earning the country's first ever series win in New Zealand.

But they did that in truly epic fashion today.

If you don't believe what you've just witnessed, go on and read Michael Morrow's match report for further definitive proof.

Thanks for following our text commentary this morning. I suspect many of us will never forget this day.

  2. 'It won't be done again' - Farrellpublished at 10:38 British Summer Time 16 July 2022

    Full-time: New Zealand 22-32 Ireland

There may be a World Cup coming up for this group of Ireland players but coach Andy Farrell admits it will be difficult for them to better this achievement.

"This is a special group. To come here and achieve what they've achieved. It won't be done again, knowing what we know is going to happen in the next few years anyway," Farrell told Sky Sports

"This is probably the toughest thing to do in world rugby. We came here. Nobody mentioned end-of-season tours.

"We dusted ourselves down and came here with task in hand. We went for it straight from the start.

"These guys have broken some records but this will top everything I would think."

  3. 'I bet we had four million up for breakfast at home'published at 10:25 British Summer Time 16 July 2022

    Full-time: New Zealand 22-32 Ireland

Ireland captain Johnny Sexton looks suitably thrilled as he gives his thoughts on this momentous achievement.

"I bet you we had four million people at home up for breakfast and probably having a few pints as well," said the Ireland skipper.

"It's a very special day because we're playing against the best in the world. To come down here and do it is very, very special.

"It's clear how belief there is. It's starts with the main man with Faz (Andy Farrell). He's come in here. He's changed things.

"He was brave at the start. He stuck with some older lads and he got criticised. He brought in some younger lads.

"He's just done an amazing job and all credit to him really.

"It means a lot now. I know in a year's time when the World Cup starts it won't mean anything as we're learnt before but we'll certainly really enjoy tonight and maybe a couple of more days.

"We've got to keep improving. That's what we have to learn from previous years."

"It's an incredible feeling. We spoke at the start of the tour. It's a tour you want to be on. It doesn't get much harder.

"This was the goal coming out here. It looked ropey after the first week but I'm unbelievably proud of the group.

"It was great to finish off with a performance like that. It feels incredible."

Will Jordan has just scored an incredible All Blacks try after running all the way from his own half as he burns Sexton at the finish to score. Barrett is adjudged to have missed the conversion even though the fly-half appears to think that it has gone over. I think it went directly over the upright. Only three between the teams now.
