No second try for Bundee Aki then.

This has been an uncomfortable afternoon from an Irish perspective, and Italy are deservedly within an unconverted try of leading.

There is a remarkable number of green shirts in this stadium but it's the home fans making the noise right now.

There is simply no way through for Ireland as Italy give away another penalty. Ross Byrne opts for the corner but Italy steal the line-out and win a penalty.

Not many teams have done that to Ireland in defence.

I always make the obvious point about him. I really think he is a like for like replacement for Johnny Sexton. He is very similar in style, the way he bosses the position and he has done that, I think he's done well.

I know I sound like a broken record but Paolo Garbisi is really good at rugby. Italy start as they finished the first 40.

Fair play to Italy, they're showing great belief and just like their previous games recently, they're not just rolling over, they're hanging in there.

The try and the end there changes the whole gloss of the first half. It's been an exciting first half but Ireland haven't been firing at all cylinders and certainly from an Irish point of view, we're not where we should have been.

Gab: I hope this silences the Italy out brigade. Running France close and going toe to toe with arguably the best side in the world. Classy young team.

Andrew: Ireland, for years, have been labelled as dull and one-dimensional, despite their prolonged success. The same cannot be said for this current side after what we have seen last time out vs France and also again today.

I shared some difficult times in Rome in the build-up to today's game and that is certainly proving to be the case today for Ireland. Italy have been excellent and look a different side with Paolo Garbisi at fly-half.

Ireland however are as clinical as always but far from out of sight. Surely this pace can't continue in the second half.

It's certainly lifted the crowd here that breakaway try. The Irish defence has been very good in general throughout that first half and for all the possession Italy have had, they haven't created an awful lot and then ironically it comes off an interception. That opens up the game again.
