That's a wrap from Rome, thanks for joining us.

Wales are finally back to winning ways and look to have avoided the dreaded wooden spoon with victory over Italy.

They also avenged last year's defeat in Cardiff in the battle of the Six Nations basement.

    Read the match report here.

It was a victory inspiried by the returning Rhys Webb, while Italy will be left to rue two yellow cards and missed opportunities.

Wales' troubles on and off the field are far from over, but for now, it's time to celebrate, and what better way with Le Crunch?

England host France at Twickenham, with both sides needing a win to keep their title hopes alive.

Wales head coach Warren Gatland told S4C: "I thought we deserved to win today, and with the bonus point which was great.

"There's still a massive amount of growth in this team in terms of them going forward.

"A lot of players will have learned a lot about themselves today and it wasn't a bad Italian side."

Gatland added that Rhys Webb "played outstandingly well".

"His decision making was excellent, he didn't force anything and kept us on the front foot."

We need pace on the field, the quickest man in that Welsh squad is Louis Rees-Zammit, who does he come in for?

I'd definitely look to get him back in there.

In terms of today's performance it was far more will than skill, chasing kicks doing a little bit of the donkey work that hadn't been done in the first few games.

It wasn't a very cohesive performance, I'm probably a bit disappointed by Italy with the pressure and expectation they've had on this game.

From the Welsh angle, we didn't have to do an awful lot today the kicking game managed the field for us and we got our rewards from that.

It was messy, it looked like a team lacking in confidence and I don't think we created that much

Italy made so many mistakes, they will look back at that thinking that was an opportunity lost.

But Wales did enough to win it.

When these lads are walking around the pitch they will be so proud and grateful of the support.

They've stayed, given the credit to the boys for fronting up after a tough tournament and this will mean the world to the players.

I think this could be a driving point for the team.

There is a lot to come from this Welsh side, I just thought we were in perfect positions and we were just going to sleep.

We just haven't got confidence or the ability at the moment.

    Brian O'Driscoll

    Italy will be very frustrated.

They have improved so much, we're not patronising them by saying that, and they'll be properly annoyed with themselves.

They created so many chances, three or four try scoring opportunities that they didn't put away.

They only lost by 12 points, Kieran Crowley will be frustrated with another game that goes begging.

They [Wales] won with a lot of skill.

They took the game to Italy from minute one.

There was quality in their kicking game, they won collisions, defensively they brought a whole new level of line speed.

    Wales deserved that.

It's vital we celebrate the importance of that win.

About 80 minutes ago we were all ready to talk about the devastation if they [Wales] lost.

They've gone to Italy as underdogs on the back of bad performances, so to go there and perform the way they have, to win with the bonus point, they deserve a lot of credit.

The wooden spoon has been put to bed with the bonus point win but a lot of men in those red jerseys stood up today.

They will be happy, they will be proud, they know there is a lot of work to come.
