A great night for Edinburgh, less so for Glasgow.

Edinburgh head coach Mike Blair has also been talking to BBC Radio Scotland post-match:

"I actually enjoyed the game, which I don't normally", he said. "The noise the fans made and the effort of our guys on the pitch was great.

"These games are so much around momentum, and taking opportunities. We managed to put daylight between the teams. It meant we didn't have to play as much and could put pressure on Glasgow.

"We've been so intent on playing the significance of this game down, and I didn't push the idea of Champions Cup rugby, but we're obviously pleased with that."

Glasgow head coach Danny Wilson has been giving his thoughts to BBC Radio Scotland:

"We came here and thought if we can get some speed into the game we could test them as we did at home", he said. "We failed to do that.

"The two numbers that stand out are our penalty count in the first hour and our turnover rate, which gave them counter-attack opportunities.

"A tough day, but we have to bounce back because we've got a trip to Ireland now. The penalties were killers and Edinburgh fed off that. Today, in a derby, that got the better of us.

"The tail-end of the season we haven't performed away from home how we'd like to. We have to put that right. Today was a poor performance.

"We'll deal with today and then think about Leinster."

For Glasgow, they have to settle for the European Challenge Cup next season, and now face a daunting trip to play Leinster in the quarter-finals of the URC.

The clock ticks into the red, and Edinburgh belt the ball into touch.

Huge cheers both on and off the pitch - Edinburgh win the 1872 Cup, win the URC's Scottish-Italian shield, and qualify for next season's European Champions Cup.

The referee and TMO have had a long look at a Pierre Schoeman tackle on Ollie Smith, but eventually decide there's nothing doing.

The Warriors make their way into Edinburgh's 22, and look threatening, but a knock-on from Nathan McBeth sees the chance slip away.

Edinburgh make steady progress over the gain-line, but lose some of their momentum after Ben Muncaster throws a loose pass.

Glasgow then win a penalty and win some much-needed territory.

Glasgow look to hit back immediately - they are camped on the Edinburgh line.

Darcy Graham then slaloms his way into Glasgow's 22, denied only by a huge hit from Rufus McLean.
