Edinburgh head coach Mike Blair has also been talking to BBC Radio Scotland post-match:
"I actually enjoyed the game, which I don't normally", he said. "The noise the fans made and the effort of our guys on the pitch was great.
"These games are so much around momentum, and taking opportunities. We managed to put daylight between the teams. It meant we didn't have to play as much and could put pressure on Glasgow.
"We've been so intent on playing the significance of this game down, and I didn't push the idea of Champions Cup rugby, but we're obviously pleased with that."

Glasgow head coach Danny Wilson has been giving his thoughts to BBC Radio Scotland:
"We came here and thought if we can get some speed into the game we could test them as we did at home", he said. "We failed to do that.
"The two numbers that stand out are our penalty count in the first hour and our turnover rate, which gave them counter-attack opportunities.
"A tough day, but we have to bounce back because we've got a trip to Ireland now. The penalties were killers and Edinburgh fed off that. Today, in a derby, that got the better of us.
"The tail-end of the season we haven't performed away from home how we'd like to. We have to put that right. Today was a poor performance.
"We'll deal with today and then think about Leinster."

Scotland flanker on BBC Radio Scotland
Quote MessageThe second half was tough. It's been a theme for us this season that we've fallen off a bit. I thought Edinburgh were good tonight, and I can't fault any of the boys efforts, but maybe accuracy was an issue. The momentum swung so aggressively.

For Glasgow, they have to settle for the European Challenge Cup next season, and now face a daunting trip to play Leinster in the quarter-finals of the URC.
Edinburgh 28-11 Glasgow
The clock ticks into the red, and Edinburgh belt the ball into touch.
Huge cheers both on and off the pitch - Edinburgh win the 1872 Cup, win the URC's Scottish-Italian shield, and qualify for next season's European Champions Cup.
Edinburgh 28-11 Glasgow
The referee and TMO have had a long look at a Pierre Schoeman tackle on Ollie Smith, but eventually decide there's nothing doing.
Glasgow have a scrum.
Edinburgh 28-11 Glasgow
The Warriors make their way into Edinburgh's 22, and look threatening, but a knock-on from Nathan McBeth sees the chance slip away.
Edinburgh 28-11 Glasgow
Edinburgh make steady progress over the gain-line, but lose some of their momentum after Ben Muncaster throws a loose pass.
Glasgow then win a penalty and win some much-needed territory.
Ollie Smith
Hit back they do!
Glasgow create space out wide, and Domingo Miotti finds Ollie Smith with a cross-field kick.
The full-back does really well to catch and get the ball down under pressure.
Edinburgh 28-6 Glasgow
Glasgow look to hit back immediately - they are camped on the Edinburgh line.
Damien Hoyland
Breathless, brilliant rugby!
Mark Bennett barges through a tackle, throws a lovely offload out the back to Blair Kinghorn, who in turn finds Emiliano Boffelli. Edinburgh's full-back passes inside to the supporting Damien Hoyland who dives over from close range.
Hoyland has a massive grin on his face as he celebrates.
Edinburgh 21-6 Glasgow
End-to-end stuff at Murrayfield here!
Jack Dempsey breaks away and is only denied by some superb scrambling Edinburgh defence.
Darcy Graham then slaloms his way into Glasgow's 22, denied only by a huge hit from Rufus McLean.
Still Edinburgh come forward...
Edinburgh 21-6 Glasgow
Brilliant play again from Chris Dean!
He finds space with a kick through, which Darcy Graham races on to. Dean is on hand to support his team-mate and race away down the right wing.
Edinburgh's centre knocks another kick through, but some excellent recovery work from George Turner stops a certain try.

Quote MessageThe game and the referee are both going against Glasgow. Ryan Wilson needs to get hold of his players and say there needs to be a big shift in behaviour.
Emiliano Boffelli
Another penalty goes Edinburgh's way, and Emiliano Boffelli stretches the lead to 15 points.
The home side now lead the 1872 Cup on aggregate...
Edinburgh 18-6 Glasgow
Glasgow give away another penalty as Rob Harley goes off his feet, and referee Andrew Brace shows him a yellow card.
Brace had warned Ryan Wilson about his side's penalty count, but that message can't have been relayed to Harley.

Quote MessageRory Darge spoke at half-time about Glasgow's discipline. Ali Price lifts Henry Pyrgos' leg and knocks the ball out of his hand - it's a stupid penalty to give away.
Edinburgh 18-6 Glasgow
Glasgow get on the front foot for the first time in the second half, but Ali Price tries to force things and his optimistic pass results in a handling error.
Scotland's scrum-half then gives away a penalty - silly.
