  1. Missed penaltypublished at 7 mins

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow

Edinburgh make their way downfield, and Ben Vellacott wins a penalty within kicking range.

It's either clever or cynical from the Edinburgh scrum-half, depending on your allegiances, as he throws the ball against an offside Glasgow defender on the ground.

It's irrelevant because Emilliano Boffelli misses the kick.

  2. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow

Glasgow kick another penalty into the corner, but a sloppy piece of handling allows Edinburgh to clear their lines.

  3. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Glasgow have started well here.

Sam Johnson broke the Edinburgh line and forced Hamish Watson to give away a penalty, which Ross Thompson has driven into the corner.

    Big chance early on...

  4. Kick-offpublished at 1 mins

The back-row battle will be huge. Jack Dempsey and Magnus Bradbury are so important carrying for both teams. I think it'll be all-action stuff.

The way that it's set up is high stakes. It's crunch time. The 1872 Cup is important, but it's down the list tonight. Both sides will be desperate to be in the Champions Cup next season. There's bragging rights as well - so much to play for. I hope both teams come to play and don't succumb to the pressure.

  8. Three changes for Glasgowpublished at 18:24 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Edinburgh v Glasgow Warriors (18:30)

The standout news from the Warriors teamsheet is that Rufus McLean makes his first start in three months. The electric winger has been absent with a groin injury, but head coach Danny Wilson is hopeful that he can last the full 80 minutes.

The other two alterations come in the forward pack, where George Turner and Thomas Gordon come in for Johnny Matthews and Ally Miller.

Captain Ryan Wilson and Jack Dempsey join Gordon at the back of the scrum - those three going up against Edinburgh's back-row is a mouth-watering prospect.

    Edinburgh v Glasgow Warriors (18:30)

Mike Blair's Edinburgh side are boosted by the inclusion of Dave Cherry and Darcy Graham, who have both recovered from injury in order to start.

Hamish Watson is also named in the starting XV having sat out the Challenge Cup defeat to Wasps. He completes a strong back row alongside fellow Scotland internationals Luke Crosbie and Magnus Bradbury.

In the backs, Ben Vellacott and Blair Kinghorn are tasked with controlling proceedings, whilst Emilliano Boffelli switches to full-back from the wing.

  12. What's on the line?published at 18:04 British Summer Time 21 May 2022

    Edinburgh v Glasgow Warriors (18:30)

Glasgow currently sit seventh in the league table, with Edinburgh eighth, and both sides have 50 points. To put it simply, tonight's winner will claim the URC's Scottish-Italian shield and will also qualify next season's Heineken Champions Cup.

The 1872 Cup situation is slightly more complex. Glasgow hold the upper hand having won the first leg 30-17 at Scotstoun in March, but Edinburgh will be determined to overturn that deficit in front of their own fans.

The hosts need to win by 14 points or more - any other result will see Glasgow retain the trophy.
