    Scotland v Ireland (19:30)

Despite last week's 48-0 home humbling by England, Ireland's Greg McWilliams has named an unchanged starting line-up.

Scotland counterpart Bryan Easson makes one alteration, restoring Emma Orr, who missed last week's win over Italy with concussion, at outside centre in place of Lisa Thomson, who has returned to the GB sevens programme ahead of their event in Toulouse.

  8. Will Ireland avoid wooden spoon?published at 19:20 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Scotland v Ireland (19:30)

Lose and Ireland will be taking possession of their first Six Nations wooden spoon since 2004.

Like his Scottish counterpart, head coach Greg McWilliams says his side have shown improvements week-on-week during this season's competition.

Now comes the acid test against the side one below them in 10th place in the world rankings.

  9. Scotland 'improving'?published at 19:18 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Scotland v Ireland (19:30)

Scotland are looking to build on last week's 29-21 victory over higher-ranked Italy - a result that ended a run of 12 consecutive defeats.

Head coach Bryan Easson always knew that the best chance of victory would come in the final two fixtures and that's how it turned out after predictable heavy losses to England and France and a narrow defeat by Wales.

A victory today is a must against a side they have lost 14 of last 15 matches against if his assertion that his side are showing steady progress is to be proved correct.

  11. Still much to play forpublished at 19:12 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Scotland v Ireland (19:30)

Also at stake are starting places in the WXV - the new annual three-tier global tournament - being launched later this year by World Rugby.

Wales' 36-10 win in Italy today means they will join England and France in the top tier.

That also confirmed Scotland in the second tier as they can't finish below Italy, leaving Ireland needing a bonus-point win over today's hosts to overtake the Italians and avoid two seasons in the third tier.

  12. Grand finalepublished at 19:03 British Summer Time 29 April 2023

    Scotland v Ireland (19:30 BST)

It's the final fixture in this season's Women's Six Nations and, given the day started the day with England's narrow title-winning victory over France, this might be considered a bit of an anti-climax.

That's not how Scotland or Ireland see it though, especially as the visitors are looking to avoid a five-defeat whitewash.
