Edinburgh head coach Mike Blair has also been giving his thoughts to Premier Sports: "We're really pleased with the result", he said. "We showed in the first 15 minutes what we're about in attack, but Cardiff defended well and we had to change in order to get the victory.
"Our scrum was really impressive second half. You come in to perform, not to just come in and play. We want guys coming in who are able to perform, and I think we've improved on that.
"There's really good competition at 12 for us - we see it as a pivotal role in attack, taking pressure off the 10, and Chris Dean stepped up.
"I've got two nights of glamping in Northumbria. The break comes at a nice time, off the back of a couple of victories. The fact we've won will keep motivation and energy up."

Edinburgh centre Chris Dean is awarded Player of the Match and has been talking to Premier Sports: "We're delighted with the win, we knew it would be a tough game - Cardiff have been playing some good rugby.
"Our discipline let us down in the second half of the first half, but we got it right once we went back to 15.
"We believe if we put what we practice on the pitch, then anyone can perform for Edinburgh. It's a good win to take into the break."
