These anthems are an abomination! The organisers need to revert to a traditional band ASAP, it's embarrassing.

Anon: What on Earth have they done to the national anthems at the games?? I thought last night was a one off but the Italian anthem was frankly embarrassing. A group of, no doubt very accomplished female singers, HUMMING the anthems? Back to a full brass band or at least a recording please, organisers? I enjoy an emotional rendition of the Italian anthem but today was certainly something else.

The acapella version of the Italian anthem certainly wasn't what we're used to, it rather lacked the traditional oomph. I think it goes down as a good idea in theory, rather than practice.

    Well, well, well!

A magnificent long pass out to the right by Tiaan Swanepoel, it finds winger Gerswin Mouton and he streaks over in the corner, just getting in ahead of the tackler.

Fantastic celebrations from the Namibians too! They have every right to be delighted with that.

Swanepoel puts the tricky conversion just wide.

Namibian number eight Richard Hardwick had to take that line-out as the hooker Torsten van Jaarsveld is still sin-binned.

Van Jaarsveld's decision to collapse that maul has arguably cost his side 14 points so far.

    It certainly looks that way.

The first Italian maul of the game, and it almost gets them all the way to the try line...

It looks like a certain try, and Namibian hooker Torsten van Jaarsveld cynically collapses the maul. He is sin-binned for that.
