    Here we go then.

  5. Fiji move Radradra to the wingpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 17 September 2023

    Australia v Fiji (16:45 BST)

Semi Radradra will want to make amends today...

With the clock in the red and tired Wales defenders struggling to cover, the ball was thrown wide to the unmarked centre in last weekend's opener.

A clean take would have surely led to a simple run-in to move Fiji to within a point, and a conversion to follow for the win, but Radradra fumbled the ball forward and Wales held on for a 32-26 victory.

He has been moved to the wing to face the Wallabies.

Later, it will be England's turn again...

What better test for false dawns than the Land of the Rising Sun?

England hope that Sunday's World Cup meeting with Japan confirms a turning point. They hope that a team that has over-promised and under-delivered for much of the past two years, will now walk its talk.

They hope, but, more importantly, they are beginning to believe.

The mood music in England's camp this week has been upbeat - a stark change to the tournament build-up.

  7. The story of Sunday so far...published at 16:29 British Summer Time 17 September 2023

    Australia v Fiji (16:45 BST)

Earlier on Sunday, South Africa scrum-half Cobus Reinach scored a hat-trick inside 25 minutes as his side cruised past Romania with an 12-try win in Pool B in Bordeaux.

Reinach's treble is the second-quickest in World Cup history - he holds the record after scoring three after 20 minutes against Canada four years ago.

Makazole Mapimpi also completed a hat-trick in the second half in a 76-0 win.

In a destructive display, the holders had secured a bonus-point try in the 11th minute and led 33-0 at half-time.

So how are we looking in Pool C..?

Wales top the group with two bonus-point wins from two games, while Australia are second.

Fiji are third but will move into second if they beat the Wallabies with a bonus point, or if Australia do not claim a losing bonus.

Victory for the Wallabies will almost certainly mean they and Wales move into the last eight.

    All to play for then...
