  1. Sin-bin Vaea Fifitapublished at 77 mins

    Scotland 38-17 Tonga

Vaea Fifita is going to walk here.

It's sickening stuff from the Tonga number eight, who flies into contact and makes direct contact with Finn Russell's head.

Karl Dickson shows him yellow and sends it to the bunker.

I don't understand why he can't just show him red there and then.

  2. Held uppublished at 73 mins

    Scotland 38-17 Tonga

Gorgeous from Finn Russell, taking the ball to the line, and putting Blair Kinghorn through a hole.

It looks a nailed-on try, but Piti Ahki pulls off a scarcely believable tackle to drag the full-back down and prevent the try.

    Scotland will come again though.

    Scotland 38-17 Tonga

Oh, Duhan van der Merwe, that is brilliant.

The big man bursts down the line, leaving several Tongan defenders in his wake, before cutting inside and throwing a wide pass to Huw Jones.

The replacement centre tries to offload in the tackle, but it goes to ground and Tonga survive.

It could have been one of the great World Cup tries.

    Blair Kinghorn

Finally, a wee bit of composure among the chaos, and Blair Kinghorn goes over unopposed.

The forwards crash it up time and time again, but eventually Finn Russell gets the ball in space, and he delays the pass perfectly to release Kinghorn.

The conversion sails through from out wide.

    Andy Burke
BBC Scotland at Stade de Nice

A Mexican Wave is sweeping around the stadium which is perhaps indicative of the energy slowly disappearing from the game.

Scotland will want to finish with a flourish and put some gloss on this scoreline.

  7. Scotland 'frustrating'published at 18:19 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Scotland 31-17 Tonga

    Johnnie Beattie
Former Scotland back row on BBC Radio Sports Extra

The frustrating part for Scotland is the lack of ability to control this game. They have not been able to kill off this Tongan side.

  8. Postpublished at 65 mins

    Scotland 31-17 Tonga

Much better from Scotland, as some slick hands allow Ewan Ashman to barge his way into the Tonga 22.

But George Horne knocks-on trying to get the ball out of the ruck, and the good work is undone.

  9. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Scotland 31-17 Tonga

The last few minutes have been characterised by handling errors, which means there's nothing much to report.

  10. Coleman debut for Tongapublished at 57 mins

    Scotland 31-17 Tonga

The Scotland throw on Tonga's 22m isn't straight. Opportunity gone, as Tonga make another raft of changes.

Sam Lousi is off, as is scrum-half Augustine Pulu. Former Wallaby Adam Coleman enters the fray - making his Tonga debut - Sonatane Takulua on at 9.

Scotland make changes, too. Here come WP Nel and Ewan Ashman.

    George Horne

It's incredible strength from Duhan van der Merwe, who shrugs off Solomone Kata's tackle, before fending off Vaea Fifita.

George Horne is in support on his shoulder, and slides over to score in the corner.

A brilliant conversion from Finn Russell from right on the touchline takes Scotland past the 30-point mark.

    Bomb squad?

    Scotland 24-17 Tonga

A penalty goes Tonga's way, and William Havili kicks it deep into Scotland's 22.

Paula Ngauamo's throw isn't straight though, and Gregor Townsend's side will have a chance to clear their lines.

  17. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Scotland 24-17 Tonga

Blair Kinghorn slides into touch while attempting to prevent a grubber kick, which means Tonga will have the throw.

It's all a wee bit scrappy for Scotland at the minute.
