The problem with England's game play is that it can work but it's utterly dull. That's why rugby keeps changing the rules to discourage teams from playing like this. It's not just England's fans, everyone thinks it's rubbish.

  4. Extra time anyone?published at 72 mins

    England 27-24 Fiji

There has never been extra time in a World Cup quarter final, by the way.

    Just saying.

Brilliant from England, too many phases for my liking. Fantastic play from Owen Farrell, clear and precise.

I do not think this game is over!

  6. Drop-goal - England 27-24 Fijipublished at 72 mins

    Owen Farrell

It's sharp, and it's smart. England make their time near the posts count as Owen Farrell drops it cleanly between the posts. The Princess of Wales blows out her cheeks up in the stands.

Better from England, Manu Tuilagi finding ground down in the left corner, England close to the line and well spread out. Can they make this count?

Semi Radradra again! He powers through two players and finds an offload. A try out of nowhere.

    Wow!

Stunning rugby from Fiji, Semi Radradra handing off to Isoa Nasilasila who charges into open field, England are scattered and he finds Vilimoni Botitu on his shoulder for the score.

    Simione Kuruvoli adds the conversion...

Game on! This quarter-final is not over yet. England do well twice to stop runners within sight of the posts but eventually they are too ragged in defence and there's a big hole for replacement Peni Ravai to run through and score.

    Simione Kuruvoli kicks the extras.

Same old England fans moaning about our game play. Wales lost to Argentina by letting them dominate, as I see it we are doing enough to stop Fiji playing their game.

More good work at the breakdown from England frustrates Fiji and there's a bit of a coming together.

'You can't slap him like that', says Owen Farrell. It was Levani Botia on Tom Curry and they shake hands and move on.

The leadership of this team, the message form the touchline should say we have the game under control and to go for the posts. They will need every ounce to compete against France or South Africa.

  20. Missed penaltypublished at 58 mins

    England 24-10 Fiji

Fiji run the ball out wide but two players cross each other and it's a gift of a penalty for England. Owen Farrell goes for goal from a long way out, 48 metres to be precise, and hits it about 47. Just short...
