Knocked-on and Hannah Botterman does not have her second try of the night.

It looks the right call, the ball came loose as she went to dot it down.

    However, England go again.

    England almost in again!

    HT: England 28-0 Australia

The scoreline suggests England had it all their own way and, while they have been the better and certainly more clinical team, Australia did show some positive signs. They just made errors at crucial moments and didn't get their set-piece working.

England, on the other hand, look very confident in themselves and were dangerous with every attack, making their opportunities count and showing plenty of skills and power.

They will want to keep that going in the second 40 to rack up a big total ahead of their other games in the tournament.

    Jess Breach (con Holly Aitchison)

All too easy for England that.

The line-out is stopped well by Australia but at the breakdown there is a clear overlap on the blind side and Jess Breach can stroll in.

The Wallaroos aren't alert as she goes to dot down too as no one goes to close her down allowing her to run closer to the posts to make the conversion easier.

Holly Aitchison thanks Breach for making it simple for her this time around with the conversion as England bring up the try bonus point.

    England 21-0 Australia

England are looking to turn the screw with the extra player before the break.

The penalties are stacking up for Australia as this time Tania Naden is too slow to move away from the breakdown and England kick deep again.

Another try before half-time on the cards?

    Marlie Packer (con Holly Aitchison)

England waste no time at all in taking advantage of the extra player with Marlie Packer powering over the line from a maul.

Holly Aitchison is three out of three from the tee.

  12. Sin-bin: Annabelle Codey (Australia)published at 07:43 British Summer Time 20 October 2023

    England 14-0 Australia

The Australia second row goes to the sin-bin for 10 minutes for a high tackle but, as the referee says, she was static in the tackle which gives her mitigation and lessens the degree of danger, so it's not a red.

    Ella Wyrwas (con Holly Aitchison)

    England are in again!

Ella Wyrwas on her first start!

It's starts with a big kick downfield which bounces awkwardly for Ivania Wong and England move the ball wide with Jessica Breach showing some dazzling footwork to get close to the line before offloading to the supporting Wyrwas.

After a long delay for an injury, a great kick from Holly Aitchison from wide as the ball just about makes it over for the conversion.

    Better signs from Australia!

A couple of good breaks, one with winger Ivania Wong showing she can be dangerous if she finds any space.

It ends with a knock-on as an offload is attempted but better signs as the Wallaroos seek to get back on level terms.
